We arrived at La Bonne Etape after a long car ride - were feeling tired . This hotel had been selected as our " splurge " hotel as it had a Michelin star restaurant and was a Chateau and Relais hotel. When we arrived we were greeted outside the front doors by our wonderful host Stephanie. She was most welcoming - got us settled and made us a reservation for dinner at Cafe Gabby. It was so nice not to have to go out to find a restaurant - ate at Gabby twice.Our Michelin star meal was for our last night.Our room was spacious and had a lovely view of the pool , mountains and gardens.A carafe of water, biscuits and a lovely welcoming note were left in our room - a such a nice touch. Stephanie suggested what to do in the area and as well as walking trails close by.The public spaces were beautiful - filled with elegant furnishings and paintings. Our final dinner at Bonne Etape was beyond expectation - had wine pairings with the courses - amazing service, beautiful presentation on lovely serving dishes - very polished service.The Master Chef came around after the meal to see if we enjoyed our meal- an unexpected but very special surprise. Tuck in service in our room was appreciated each night with a special herbal tea and " jelly" candy! Tourist Brochure in the room was very handy. Huge fan of L'Occtaine - which was the toiletry product used.

I booked this accommodation really very late. For this reason, the host did not have a proper response to leave the key. But responsiveness not a problem at all. a newly renovated apartment in the basement of a house (the hosts). Apartment is spacious for 2 people: Bedroom, bathroom with shower and a front room that offers a sitting area and a well-equipped kitchenette. Location very good for quick onward travel towards Digne or Sisteron.

The restaurant was fantastic. Breakfast was great. The room was very spacious, clean and worked well for us. There is loads of parking and the hotel is located in a place that provides easy access to nearby towns.
A very good hotel. Everything is what you need. Clean, comfortable, nice. At the same time, it is not a chain hotel. It looks like the hotel was built in old buildings (which of course makes for a nice atmosphere).
