I Checked into Abbaye des Vaulx de Cernay May 30, 2019, after having stayed at Abbeye de Villeneuve and Chateau de Chissay. I must say that my experience with these these two was excelent, with high marks for the Chateau de Chissay. Unfortunately my experience with Abbaye des Vaulx de Cernay was the worst possible and gave me enormous trouble with my banks. For checking out, I went to your Reception to settle my account, After trying six times to make the payment required using three diferente credit cards, all were refused with ABANDON DEBIT printed on the credit card machine slip. I finally paid cash. To my surprise, all six debits were made to my credit cards. I HAVE THUS PAID SEVEN TIMES. One in cash and seven debits to my different credit cards. Having called the hotel and talked to Mr Samuel he said it occurs frequently but these debits never are completed, and that I should call tomorrow Mr Alexandre Potel, Front desk Manager, to clarify the matter. On May 1st I called in the morning Mr Potel was not available and Mr Vincent asked if I could call mid afternoon when he would be available. I then called at the requested time and Mr Potel declined to talk to me and sent a message that through whomever was on the telephone saying that the Hotel could only clarify the matter Monday morning when talking to the accounting department. The different banks informed that my account was debited all six times. It took me three weeks through intensive exchange with the various banks to finally cancel these debits, with no help from Abbaye des Vaulx de Cernay. So, I cannot recommend this hotel and it’s staff. They need better systems and better training.
