We arrived in Caunes Minervois On a cold and rainy December day and had had a very warm welcome at the hotel. Our room was big, high ceilings, old fashioned, typical French, lovely and warm and just perfect.
The room had a separate toilet and a shower room with the most amazing local Caunes-Marble wash basin. Which makes perfect sense as the Hotel La Marbrerie was the old marble manufacture.
Boasting a tennis court and views of quiet street, Les deux arches is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Caunes-Minervois, 50 km from Abbaye de Fontfroide.

We were very warmly welcomed by Natasha, Dean & Alphonse. They have done a wonderful job renovating their lovely medieval home. It's so authentic, full of character and charm. Our room was lovely, very comfortable & relaxing. The breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed good conversation with our hosts and would recommend Les Deux Arches, if you like authenticity, charm & great value. Thank You Very Much.

Friendly and informative hosts. Plenty of space for one person - I slept in the lower bunk bed which was very comfortable, but there is also a large double bed. A good shower. Use of the summer kitchen opposite. Walking distance to town centre.
Set in a 19th-century mansion with a swimming pool in the 600 m² garden, this guest house is 400 metres from the centre of Peyriac-Minervois. Home-made jams and pastries are served for breakfast.

Authentic house in a charming French small town. We were here only one night, but the owner Rebecca made our stay really worthwhile. The kids could swim in the pool (really clean and neat) after 7 pm and after breakfast again before we continued our journey. The breakfast that we enjoyed under the tree in the lovely garden behind the house, was with nice French bread (two types), yoghurt, home made jams, coffee and juice. We had to make a small detour to get here, but I'm glad we did! Rebecca communicates in a nice personal manner before we got there and answers all questions in a quick manner.
Offering an outdoor swimming pool and free bikes, Domaine de Palats is located a 20 minutes’ drive from Carcassonne, 25 acres of unspoiled countryside to explore, including gardens and picnic spots.

Beautiful place in a wonderful setting. Nice pool and bar, but unfortunately the weather wasn’t that good - would love to come back when it’s warmer! Very comfortable beds and everything you need is in the gite.

An exceptionally interesting house, uniquely designed and renovated. A very artistic house and community. Lovely welcoming people with a nice "laid back" approach. Very clean, well organised and lovely breakfasts served in the courtyard garden. I had a lovely stay.

A jewel of a place if you want to have tranquility, be away from the big cities and enjoy the wonderful life of a small but ancient and rich in-history village llike this. No need to watch TV or the Brexit debates. Be happy to walk the safest streets in France and enjoy the clean air, the sunshine and the typical way of living of the locals. Its people are very nice and happy to welcome to their village. The two or three main restaurants could accommodate your needs and preferences if you have no Skills in French and at least one of them is owned and operated by a pleasant British lady. This is the inner France that has not changed!

Nice vineyards make a great scenery as you drive from village to village. Historic towns and green landscape create a postcard experience. Good food at reasonable price. It felt sometimes like being in Provence without the crowds and the high price!

We wanted to stay in a rural bed and breakfast run by English people in France and this property was ideal. We had some lovely meals, some great cooking. The village is very scenic and historic and has a few nice bars and restaurants. The owners could not be more helpful and welcoming we will certainly return.

Second visit to this lovely collection of houses that have been converted into one hotel.
Located right in the center of the village in a narrow street so no problem with car noise.
Garage parking is available (access vie the main road) so no problem with having to leave the car elsewhere.
Staff/owners were really friendly and informative and very helpful with offers to book dinner reservations etc.
Breakfast was good with lots of things available.

Janelle and Bruce are marvellous hosts. It was a bit like visiting some old friends. We got recommendations for spots to visit and where to go for dinner. Caunes-Minervois is picturesque and L'Ancienne Boulangerie fits great in this lovely village. And the patio is a great spot to chill at the evening with a glass of vine.
We had a great stay. The hotel is more than lovly and elegantly furnished. The owners were welcoming and caring. The hotel is well located in the center of a beautiful french town. We felt very comfortable and we can fully recommend it for everyone. We wish Anthony and Ian the best for their future.
