Brioude is a very pleasant small Auvergne town. The wonderful very early basilica would compete with the cathedral in Clermont-Ferrand for architectural quality, ancient wall frescoes and atmosphere. There are at least two well reviewed restaurants in town, we will book ahead next time to get a table! Our visit was on a damp December day -the town would be even more pleasant in warmer, sunny weather.
The location is good with parking in front of the hotel. Our room was spacious clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was closed and so we ate at the sister hotel which is a 10 minute walk up the hill and had one of the best meals & service. In the morning the breakfast in the hotel was very good providing all fresh produce. We would like to stay again.
The hosts are so friendly. They offer to send us to train station when we check out. They are a pair of lovely and sweet couple! Elegant and Beautiful!
I love the decorations of this heritage apartment, it is their family apartment with over 300 years history! Very neat and tidy and clean! I will definitely stay here again if I come to Brioude.
We have stayed here before, and are always very happy with the Hotel. One big advantage for us is the availability of a 3 bed room, which reduces the cost over 2 rooms. Also, the restaurant has great food at a reasonable price and a nice wine list.

Nice large comfortable bed, modern well fitted room with ensuite, aircon. Lovely Town Centre 15 min or less walk away, or large central free Car Park. Great breakfast and superb evenng meal available at sister hotel 150 yds away uphill. Very friendly staff, other residents nice too. Parking free.
A fabulous find in a heatwave. There were very few hotels in the area with air conditioning so we were delighted to find the Artemis Hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, the bed was large and very comfortable, there was a lovely pool to enjoy and the meal we had was good.
Ideal simple accommodation without frills right in the middle of the historic centre of Brioude. Perfect location to visit and absorb this intriguing town. Shared bathroom facilities more than adequate. Really appreciated the availability of a washing machine!
