Stephane and Christine are just the most wonderful hosts. They really care about their customers. They were there to greet you at breakfast. There was a wonderful selection of cheeses and cold meats along with lovely crusty baguettes, croissants and confiture.
Our room was beautiful with a very comfy bed and a selection of pillows to suit everyone. We had a stand alone roll top bath too! The bathroom was tiled in quality marble. The bedroom filled with lovely antique furniture.

Blaye is a pretty historic town and with a good market on Wednesday. There are quite a few things to see and do in the area, including the magnificent Citadel. This area is well known for the Royal Marine Comandos, the "Cockleshell Heroes" of the Second World War, to whom we paid our respects for their epic journey by kayak on the Gironde and their mission, "Operation Frankton" to Bordeaux. We will be back to explore more another time.

Blaye is very conveniently located on the Gironde.
Blaye is very conveniently located on the Gironde. The ferry, which crosses the estuary, crosses frequently. There are plenty of excellent places to eat and drink. The choice of wine, in particular, is enormous!
We hired a car which we picked up at Bordeaux airport and it was very easy to visit the beautiful countryside with it's rich history. It was great to see the world famous vineyards and their Chateaux.
The market in Blaye is well worth a visit as is the historic citadel.
first 5 stars go to typical things: great location; quiet; comfortable room (the blue room is very large); super breakfast with homemade jams; great advice & help from Herve; very good wifi.
the next 5 stars: safe bicycle parking; wonderful art throughout the house; lovely garden; Herve is the most gracious host and enjoys engaging conversation (in English or French); Gangster the dog.
do not miss staying at Maison Matejewski when in Blaye. Very highly recommend this BnB.
Everything, an exceptional property that is just beautifully decorated and the location is perfect in the centre of Blaye, yer it is so peaceful and tranquil set amongst the gardens and mature trees. The swimming pool is so lovely and being able to have a dip in the beautiful surroundings. Stephane and Christine are wonderful hosts and provide a fabulous breakfast in the morning also.
This property was very stylish and unique. Herve really takes great care of his guests. He has thought about his guests needs and comfort, choosing lovely fabrics, artefacts and food. We would definitely recommend this property. Parking is very easy locally, free and secure. We stored our bike in the garden which was no problem.
Blaye is fascinating and beautiful- enjoy!
This a delightful chambre d'hote in a great location in Blaye. Hervé is the consummate artistic host and a gentleman. The place is beautifully decorated with both his art and others. His breakfast was outstanding. He makes delicious jams with loving care and even designs the labels. You will feel most comfortable here. We highly recommend.
The apartment is spacious and beautifully decorated and furnished. It is well equipped for a self catering holiday
It is an easy walk down to Blaye and parking is close by. A good view of The Citadel from the bedroom window
We were made welcome by our host Emilie although had not picked up her message to call 10 minutes before arrival
Hotel staff helpful and I was quickly able to get the car in past the pietons, etc.
I had a walk along the areas at the back of hotel and realised I was somewhere special, overlooking the estuary. What history must have happened there in all the years since the Citadel was built.
Breakfast was good.getting to local restaurantz was a problem , no taxi service but the owner drove us to and from some nice restaurants in Blaye.I was not happy driving and drinking and not happy dining and not drinking. The owner solved the problem
My colleague and I arrived by bicycle after a long and hot day in the saddle and were made most welcome on our arrival. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, and we were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel.
Very nice host, he gave a tour and told about the history of the hotel. He also gave a perfect advise for a restaurant in Blaye. The hotel is still in renovation ( 3th floor) but gave no inconvinience at all.
Very friendly welcome from staff, including information on the Blaye ferry timetable. Very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Excellent breakfast, generous with plenty of choice.
Beautiful apartment right in downtown Blaye. It was so nice meeting Emilie, and she gave us ideas for activities in the area. Check-in and check-out were super easy with her.
