The Spa was both a luxury and a Godsend that we enjoyed to explore as we hiked the El Camino route. The view was breathtaking from the pool, the cafe and from our balcony where we were sitting watching the Sun go down. There was no light pollution so the starlit sky was a spectacle, the tranquility wrapped us around like the darkness. It was magical! This is a beautiful hotel with an exceptional location, excellent food and a very relaxing spa. I could not recommend it enough!

The house was gorgeous, great views, spotless, lots of room, comfy sitting room, really well equipped kitchen. Terrace was a great spot for coffee and breakfast, gets the sun all day.
Also, Fina the owner was incredibly helpful when we got ourselves into a car-related pickle. She helped us call our car company and get it all sorted in less than 24 hours. Life saver!

I was surprised how well equipped this place is despite being located in the mountains. Friendly volunteers will take care of you from the first minute. The rooms are clean, everything is frequently being cleaned. It's a good stop on a GR131 route. I recommend taking dinner - you get a lot of good vegetarian food for a good price. And the views, incredible!

Beautiful town, loads of trails for hiking and running. Some really nice eateries and especially the famous almond dulcerias - come early in the morning as they get pretty busy in the middle of the day!

The hotel is in a superb location for hikers as it is positioned at the intersection of many of the best walks on Gran Canaria . The building faces west and looks over the mountain tops, which gives a stunning view, especially when the sun is setting. All the bedrooms also face roughly ina westerly direction so there is no fear of missing out when reserving your stay, however the winds were very strong when we stayed there in January so not really possible to use the balcony.Tea and coffee making facilities not available, would have appreciated a welcome drink or a cup of tea on arrival and air conditioning/heating unit didn't appear to work despite the appearance of a new control unit. If you are not interested in hiking there isn't any other nearby activities, however, it is still a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the scenery.

A very pretty little town/village with a modest selection of cafes, bars and restaurants and a small but well stocked supermarket. You'll need to eat fairly early in the evening though as most places seemed to be closed by 8pm (in April).
A great base from which to access the superb hiking trails in the area.

Pay attention at the evening restaurants. Some are indicated as open, but if the owner doesn’t feel like to open he won’t…. So you might spend some time to get food.
I recommend to go at the bakery dulceria de Tejeda. Great pastries 😄

Gorgeous for a short stay, great for those wanting to hike, bike or study nature. Useless for the night-lifers or those wanting the party lifestyle found in the south. Tiny town, only one shop and a farmacia. A few restaurants, but no hotel. No sophisticated. Very rural

I was on a walking holiday and so Tejeda was perfect.
I was on a walking holiday and so Tejeda was perfect. I did the long walk around Roque Nublo. Itinerary no 2 from the tourist information. Scenery in the area is superb. Strangely bars and restaurants seem to close early, possibly because the town seems to cater for day trippers.
