We arrived on a freezing cold day and were relieved to walk into a lovely warm reception area. Check in was excellent with smiling welcoming staff. The room was clean and spacious with a wonderfully powerful shower. The bed mattress was comfy but unfortunately there was only one Spanish type long pillow which was typically hard and uncomfortable. The heating unit was strangely situated over the bed (room 212) and worked quickly and efficiently. The hotel has no parking but there is free street parking in the vicinity. would definitely stay here again.
This hotel is situated in the historic center of Gaudix, near the cathedral and surrounded by the monuments of this ancient, Andalusian town.

Not a lot.
The hotel is listed as a 4 star however it should be downgraded as it's by no means a hotel of 4 star quality .
It needs refurbishing, a different attitude and a new chef .
The bar was devoid of patrons as was the restaurant.
The food was mediocre to say the least and instead of the usual hum of customers enjoying their drink or meal, the only sound came from the televisions in both areas.
We stayed for two nights however the room wasn't made up or cleaned in between

We found three good places to eat, the Taberna in the main street that does very good value for money menu del dia. Also the hostal just up the road from the taberna, quick and tasty, especially the chicken wings, and the platter of mixed fresh vegetables was divine and worth waiting for. then another restaurant on the way out of town called Tinaja which is very good.

Excellent accommodation, our cave was well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine
Everything supplied was appreciated, water, milk in the fridge , snacks , tea bags and coffee also provide.
The bathroom was well equipped and a supply of shampoos and gels were also provided .
For a completely different experience to coastal Spain it's well worth a visit. Really spacious 'cave' accommodation that was incredibly atmospheric, cosy and well-appointed. We loved the museum (a free guided tour was included) and the fact you could walk from the hotel and see the old caves carved into the hillsides. The pool was clean and swimming towels were provided, which was an unexpected bonus.
