Everything was amazing. The location, just in front of the sea and the facilities were great. And the staff, all were nice and always available and helpful. In our case, they all gave us tips on things to do in the island. Defenitely recommended.

Hotel is located in the second row of the beach. There is party at the beach (Pink Iguana Bar) on Fridays and Saturdays. I heard guests with rooms facing the beach complaining about noise during weekend nights. My room was facing the back country. With my windows closed I did not hear anything during weekend nights.

Fly to Seymour Airport, Baltra Island, Ecuador, then take a ferry to Santa Cruz Island and a bus to Puerto Ayora. From there, a 2-hour ferry ride reaches Puerto Villamil. For domestic travellers, direct flights to Baltra from Quito or Guayaquil are available.
The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is Seymour Airport, Baltra. It's the closest to Puerto Villamil, approximately 100km away, and offers frequent connections to mainland Ecuador.
Puerto Villamil, Ecuador, is a small town best navigated on foot or by bike, available for hire locally. Taxis are also an option for longer distances. There's no public transport system. Always remember to negotiate taxi fares before your journey. For exploring further afield, water taxis provide access to nearby islands.
The best area to stay in Puerto Villamil, Ecuador, is the town centre. It's popular due to its proximity to the beach, restaurants, and shops. It's also convenient for visiting the Tortoise Breeding Centre and the Wetlands.

We enjoyed Isabel Island the most of the three Islands we stayed at. Fantastic wildlife. The sunrises and sunsets, long beach walks, Los Tunnels Tour, bike rental, trails, tortoise natural reserve, plenty of shops for fresh fish and produce, plenty of restaurants with delicious food, panaderias with baked goods and early morning coffee. Awesome locals that were very friendly and helpful. Exceeded all our expectations.

We enjoyed traveling beyond Santa Cruz Island for a few nights, just to experience the "vibe" of a different island. The town of Puerto Villamil is relaxed, very friendly and a charming beach town. Most of the area is walkable, though taxis were very cheap (less than $5).

Isabela is a backpacker's destination with very poor...
Isabela is a backpacker's destination with very poor infrastructure and low level restaurants. And it's extremely expensive for a European, especially if you come from a non Euro-country given the appreciation of the USD. We struggled to find a decent restaurant and it turned out that the Mexican was the best (full every night). To give you an example of cost, a main course was between USD19-30 which in eg Spain would have been aprox USD8. Price/quality ratio is among the worst we've experienced.
Ecuador, especially the islands, is a cash only-no receipt-economy with the purpose of squeezing the last dollar out of the tourists. We left with few intentions of returning which is a shame given the amazing animals and nature. People are mostly very friendly and helpful which was a nice.

The laid-back beach town vibes here are so much different...
The laid-back beach town vibes here are so much different than Puerto Ayora and Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on the other islands. We loved the relaxing atmosphere and I wish we'd planned this stop toward the end of the trip instead of right at the beginning. Make sure you do a trip to Los Tuneles while you're there - the scenery is fantastic and it was the best snorkeling we had on our week in the islands.

Puerto Villamil is small but welcoming and very beautiful...
Puerto Villamil is small but welcoming and very beautiful with great opportunities for snorkeling, walking, biking, swimming, kayaking etc. Most restaurants seem to serve "pizza" for tourists, but it's possible to avoid that for more traditional and delicious fare. The local beer is good, the people are friendly and it's well worth the effort to visit. The wildlife is spread around the island, but you can experience an incredible variety in the near vicinity - flamingos, penguins, sea lions, manta rays, sea horses, turtles, tortoises, iguanas, lava lizards, blue-footed/nazca boobies and other incredible sea birds, sharks and colourful fishes, I can't wait to go back :)

Nice place, really relaxing.
Nice place, really relaxing. Not too many good options to go out for dinner and the nice restaurants are quite expensive. But this is the rule in Galapagos.
If you don't have much money, I would not recommend to stay many nights here, because the day trips are hugely expensive and there is not many free options otherwise staying in the central beach.

Good location but locals call this Casa Sol Isabela. There is another property called Isabela Beach House and taxi driver got confused. Great location and rooms were clean and comfortable but the hotel has seen better days - ripped and stained towels, had to ask for more TP and there was no water when I arrived. Office and one of the rooms had a bad mildew smell. Some windows open, some don’t. The main person running the place told me she couldn’t make a taxi reservation so asked her husband. He did not show up when I needed to leave.
Very clean, nice room. I was picked up at the ferry terminal, that was unexpected (apparently included) and made life easy. I prolonged for a third night. I think they use the same linen and towels as in their more expensive "Hotel Laguna", so for a hostal, the materials were of a much higher quality than I had expected. A 3 minute walk down the road leads you to a little café (Panadería Aroma) where a good breakfast can be bought starting at 6.45 (in time before excursions start).
We love both the owner of this place! They are super kind and helpful and even make us feel like theie children 😭 our room is clean and facing the ocean it was amazing to fall asleep to the sound of ocean. The bar was an amazing plus! I love the hammocks around the hotel. But i think the highlight of the hotel is the kindness of the owners , i swear they are the nicest people and amazing service!!! We feel like home!
Quiet, clean, wonderful layout and the ocean is always at your door step.
staff very friendly and owners very engaging and super helpful.
Internet service is intermittent but functional.
the views from either rooftop balconies are absolutely spectacular (ocean in the front mangroves in the back…one evening we saw pink flamingoes soar right behind the hotel)
would stay here again and again!
Very nice stay in Puerto Villamil! Owner Lienke is very friendly, gave us an good introduction about the town and restaurants, and arranged a perfect snorkeltour for us. We got a room upgrade to a whole apartment! The house is very clean, and everything you need is easy to reach by foot. Feels really safe as well because of the outer fencing around the house. Free drinking water available.
The host from this hotel is the first one to tell me that Galapagos changed the requirements to the visitors, I really appreciated it. the host also booked multiple tours for me, and scheduled everything else. room was very clean, water, fruit are available. breakfast was free and they served the breakfast around our schedule. it was a nice stay, and I really really like Island Isabella!
The hotel staff were incredible and very helpful. They helped me plan my activities and organize tours for me, contacting the owners of the tour agencies themselves. My room was very pleasant, had great views of the beach, had great airflow, and was in a perfectly central part of town. The breakfast at the cafe downstairs was tasty and affordable for guests.
Very nice hotel. Very good breakfast. Puerto Villamil is very small. Position of this hotel is so close to everything. Pool was very nice to use in the evening.
Very comfy and clean room.
Isabela was my favourite place to stay during my Galapagos trip. It is so beatiful place that I wish I could spend there much more time!
Incredible location right on the beach. Recent upgrades to the bathroom (new tile), new bed linens in a fresh beachy color. Good size room.
Like most of Ecuador, the hotel does not accept credit cards directly. Instead, they used a PayPal app, and had a much smaller surcharge than most places (6% instead of 12%)
Big clean rooms in Isla Isabela. close to the playa Concha de perla. Hosts are amazing, if you want to feel Galapagos vibes definitely stay at this place. Great facilities, outdoor hammocks, coconuts from the hose, his music, stories about Galapagos priceless.
The best vacation ever. Location, cleanliness, kitchen - fantastic. Children can swim in the sea right next to the hotel !!!. The best service in the world. Thank you Jimy for help and everything. Best regards and see you. Anna and Stefan Ficek
This hotel is a great value! It's at the far end of town so its pretty quiet, but within a 10 minute walk of the town center. Right on the beach, communal kitchen and dining area, good water, clean rooms, and the staff are extremely nice!
Very comfortable hotel - big rooms, good aircon that flows not into bed, hot water, nice breakfast.
Hotel is 10 minutes from beach, but plenty of supermarkets around, brewery and best Galapagos restaurant La casa del asado nearby
The location was great, really close to everything. Very nice room and very nice hotel. The staff was all very friendly and helpful, always looking to provide us what we needed. Would come back when coming again to isabela
Simple and basic but very cozy, clean and functional.
Lovely staff and great location.
We had the family room at the top of the hotel with a little private terrasse with a table and some chairs.
Very nice hotel directly at the beach!
Staff is very helpful and answers questions quick and easy via whatsapp. They helped us booking some activities and everything went perfect!
