It is a great place for a vacation for a couple or family with children. Attractive town and market. Great variety of restaurants with delicious food. So many attractions nearby for adventure seekers. Our 8 and 10 year olds had a fantastic time. Our visit to Banos was 7 days.

Banks is a suitable destination for all travellers.
Banks is a suitable destination for all travellers. There are more than enough activities for adrenalin junkies: buggy jumping, ziplining, rafting, swing at the top of the world ... For the rest of us the walk to the Devil's cauldron is eminently doable especially in the opposite side along the catwalks. Downtown is a lovely cathedral and a good selection of tourists tat. Don't mix the taffee pullers and be sure to take some home. One of the highlights of Banos are the many remarkable restaurants. Don't miss The Swiss Bistro. There is a great and very interesting small zoo of local fauna at the edge of town. For those interested there is a reptilarium opposite the zoo.

A lot of people do a day tour to Banos from Quito, but I think it is insane, since it takes about 2.5 / 3 hours to get there. Therefore, I think staying couple of nights helps, giving time to explore the little town and all the activities and waterfalls around. The "cascadas" tour is probably the best!

Very nice town with things to do and places to eat and beautiful views. Short bus ride to see waterfalls and hiking trails. Great for day trips to other parts of Ecuador that are interesting as well. It was very safe there.

Great night life vibe for all ages in Banos. A great choice of Cafes and restaurants. There was always someone that could speak English if required.
The hotel ordered a private taxi to take me to all the tourist spots which was extremely cheap for a days outing and very informative.
I was able to walk from my hotel to the township. If you are sporty there is everything there for you.

Baños was a super cool experience for my birthday. The Pailon del Diablo was the best. The restaurants at the bottom were spectacular! The places in town had local art for sale and great coffee shops etc for tourists. Cute place to spend a few days.
A very nice hotel in a quiet area that is easily reachable by public transport. We came from Puyo and the (public) bus dropped us off in front of the hotel (parada 'Rio Verde). We loved the spa facilities the hotel offers, very welcome after a nice hike to the waterfall nearby. The breakfast was good and the hotel also has a restaurant for other meals and snacks. We loved the details and the garden. Also the staff is very friendly. Great spot before entering the busy town of Baños!
La Casa Amarilla is a wonderful, homey, scenic stay! Bettina and Darwin are wonderful hosts, and we felt incredibly welcome! Bettina is very responsive (and fluent in many languages!) and an amazing cook. Fresh fruit, coffee, eggs, and freshly baked bread and homemade jam for breakfast? An absolute dream! Darwin also offers many tour options in Baños so if you’re staying here, leave some room in your itinerary for these adventures. We would definitely stay here again!
The staff is super friendly and always made sure that we are happy and safe, he even took us with him in his car. Our room was very nice and the hotel is a very big and safe place. It was nice having a walk in the garden and seeing the rabbits and chicken running around. It is a bit far from the centre, but just a 20 min walk or 5 min drive with the taxi. For us that wasn't a problem and we loved not beeing in the busy centre of Baños.

Sebastian took care of everyone, constantly checking in to ensure everyone was doing well. I even witnessed him teaching some young solo travelers the fundamentals of self-defense.
One memorable day, I joined the staff to indulge in delicious Arepas. They also offered invaluable guidance, recommending numerous activities and beautiful spots to explore in Banos.
In short, I didn't just find a place to stay; I found a family at this hostel.
We really enjoyed the choices for the breakfasts and the food was delicious. We are traveling with a very picky teenager and Posada del Arte was happy to try to accommodate. On the breakfast, we especially recommend the omlettes and huevos rancheros. Their veggie burger is really good for lunch!
The location is also good-- close to the waterfalls and Banos and very walkable to the squares, activities and restaurants.
The staff bent over backwards to make our stay truly memorable. We felt more like guests in there home rather than a hotel. It’s located on the edge of town which allows for the best views of any of the hotels in Banos. Totally walkable to everything. The daily breakfasts on the balcony overlooking the view was a magical start of the day. The beds were incredibly comfortable with toasty bedding.

They arranged all of our activities in Banos which made our experience in Banos easy and exciting. WOW! What a beautiful place to stay when visiting Banos. Our family room was perfect! Comfy beds, hot showers, clean room, mini-fridge, lots of space, wifi and parking for our car. Better yet, the gorgeous view from the rooftop terrace with hammocks to watch the waterfall. Walking distance to lots of great restaurants and shops. Topped off with the most delicious breakfast.

Lovely family run place. The boy speaks fluent english and can give you great tips how to maximize your time in Baños. Yes, the place is a bit rustic but we put a great value for a fact that they had hot water in the shower. Also the laundry service was a plus. Seem to have a nice looking kitchen even though we didn’t use it.
The location is great - just few minutes walk to the center but in a quiet neighbourhood. Private parking is available on site. The apartment is very spacious and well equipped. The host is very helpful and responsive. Provided good advice for restuarants and places to visit. Definitely recommended for a stay in Banos!
