The room was very spacious. the staff very friendly and helpful. The food was good and plentiful and it is a buffet style and it is topped up quickly when anything runs low. there were 2 choices for payment of the buffet one includes just food and the next is food and all your wine and beer which is good value. There is also a swimming pool sauna and these were clean. We were a party of 16 and hired the bowling alley, it was 15 euros an hour so not much between us and it was great fun. The bus stop is at the bottom of the drive and the bus ride about 15 mins into Schmallenberg which has many shops, cafes and restaurants.
Very quiet and peaceful area. Very secluded, so a car is neccessary, but it is a lovely area with a great view of the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was good, not a massive selection, but more than enough to give a good start to the the day.
Lot's of hiking trails nearby, some are very easily accesible from the hotel. Nearest town is 10 mins away by car (Winterberg) and has anything you might need including skiing and other winter activities.
Very nice and well equipped appartment, new, clean and cozy. Location is perfect, center of Schmallenberg. Restaurants and nice square with terraces in walking distance.
The owners are very friendly and all kind of information about the area and it’s activities are available in the appartment, if needed the owner is very willing to give advice.
The area was absolutely lovely. Driving there was beautiful and the hotel itself is located really well. They are super dog friendly, they had 2 bowls ready and welcomed my dog with open arms. Even allowed to join in the breakfast area. Really great stay and can recommend if you want to go for a hike with your dog!
The central location was most convenient, the village delightful and the hotel had plenty of character and charm. I arrived after a long journey and could not have been made more welcome., by the Proprietor of the hotel. (A nice touch) Check in was a breeze, as was my breakfast order.
Rooms are not luxurious but clean and complete. great extra is the Smart-TV.
The hosts are super service oriented and helped us with tips on skirental and lifts.
Also, we got stuck with our tesla that needed power and they went out of their way to let us charge at the hotel!
The location is great! In the middle of nowhere and you can walk right into nature and follow the Rothaarsteig. The hotel has a chargepoint for electric vehicles that can be operated with your room key. Perfect!
