I arrived late in the evening and booked my accommodation shortly before arrival. On arrival, it turned out that there were no rooms available. The reception tried to find a vacancy elsewhere, but when this failed, they were flexible and quickly prepared a room that had not been prepared. Thank you.

arrived there and it’s informed that we travel with 2 dogs via booking.com. There was a event and all staff are pretty occupied. During check in, we got complained about the dogs and that a wrong room was allocated. The owner lady was extremely upset and complained a lot, that I have to pay additional money. She was stressed due to many guests, however, this should not be the customers problem. It was a funny experience . We have been travelling three weeks, Germany, Italy, Swiss and Lichtenstein. This was the only dog friendly hotel who did not allow dogs in the restaurant. All others at least prepared a separated area in the location. The Ochsen size is big enough to do the same, especially having the luxury to have a smoking area in these days! Anyway, the experience was, a very unpleasant owner with less customer orientation. Friends warned me, never stay at the Alb. 16 years ago my wife and me stayed in the same hotel and have been pleased by the friendliness and good food. However, we have been super disappointed that now also the breakfast is based on cheap back-up bred and cheese ham from the discount super market. Sorry guys, you lost 2 customer.

We stayed for one night on our way to Switzerland, and everything was nice. The room was very quiet and dark, and the bed was comfortable and cozy, which allowed for a nice and restful sleep.
Very charming family-owned hotel with nice clean rooms. The bathroom was pretty small, but comfortable enough. Quiet neighborhood, though a few minutes drive from highway 8. Friendly staff, great breakfast with an extensive choice. The restaurant offers excellent food at a reasonable price. The parking is outside, which is great when carrying a rooftop trunk.
This is an excellent 3 star hotel - it does what it says! Great location being so close to the A8 - we have stayed several times on our way to ski in Austria. Excellent & popular restaurant and good breakfast. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly and speak more than enough English.
Ochsen is a lovely small hotel/restaurant. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff are very friendly, helpful and speak excellent English. Restaurant serves imaginative and traditional cuisine - bring your appetite, the portions were huge! Great location for our stopover enroute to the Tirol
The apartment was very well located for our visit to a friend's wedding at the local church. It took about 12 minutes to walk to the local Netto. We were made very welcome and had a good meal at Guesthaus Sonne. A local bus serves the train station on the outskirts of Merklingen.
Nice hotel very close to the highway Stuttgart - Ulm - Munich. Having a rented car, this is very convenient.
