Beautiful forests. Very underdeveloped are re. tourist services.
Poor cellular signal in populated areas, no signal in the forests (you need to remember and download maps for your hiking navigation, online does not work).
Many villages don't have a restaurant, and if so, lunch is served between 12 and 12:30, dinner before 18:30 or 19. If you come later, you can get a drink and crackers.
The surroundings are great. The mountains, the forest. The hotel staff, although they have nothing to do with the private room offered, were very friendly and lent us a quilt and a pillow that we needed. The restaurant staff were also very kind to us.
Beautiful location in the higher parts of the Bavarian side of Šumava, ideal as a starting / ending point of longer hiking trips in the region. The food in the hotel restaurant was amazing.
