Our stay was excellent, we definitely recommend the hotel. The room was big, clean and comfortable with lovely view of the black forest. We were warmly welcomed and received lots of tips about what to do around. We had dinner at the property cooked by the family which was excellent!

Great rooms and breakfast. Hikes on doorstep-we walked into Baden Baden on the Panorama trail and got the bus back (stops right outside-was about 3 euros each). Liked the restaurant on site too. Mike was a really friendly, helpful guy too. Would definitely stay here again.

Forbach is for serious walkers who appreciate a quiet village. Our hotel served dinner on some nights. There is a pub serving simple but good food and a more up-scale restaurant serving posher German food and Asian dishes.

If you are looking for the quintessential quaint German...
If you are looking for the quintessential quaint German village this is it. Virtually every house looks like it's auditioning for a postcard. It does not have much for services though (I couldn't find a place to buy any kind of rain jacket for example) and I think there are only 3 or so restaurant/bars.

The village did not impress me at all. Only 3 restaurants, friendly and cosy, where I ate the same things since there was almost no options for vegetarians. We walked 7-8Km to the closest lake but once arrived there was nothing to do or something worth it to be admired. Fortunately we were able to catch the bus to go back to our hotel (instead of walking all the way back or wait 2 hours for the next bus).
I loved everything. The apartment was clean, well laid out and really comfortable. There was outside space, a well stocked kitchen, loads of local information and everything about my stay was easy. The hosts were great - really friendly and welcoming. There are hiking trails right on the doorstep and loads more in the local area, and Forbach is close for food shopping.
The location is perfect for exploring the Schwarzwald / Black Forest, and we particularly enjoyed having dinner or drinks on the terraces overlooking the Murg River.
The internal decor throughout the hotel is tastefully modern, and the helpfulness of the staff was exceptional, even with providing information about the area before our arrival.
Great spacious apartment in a beautiful old building. Location was perfect as base for hiking. Grocery store down the hill and a great little store for fresh bread at walking distance (open only in the morning). Restaurant-wise there are not that many options in Forbach but Das Waldhaus is really good (cannot say the same about Adler).
The owners are highly engaged and run an excellent hotel. The location and facilities are peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Breakfast is outstanding. I highly recommend the optional evening dinner. The transit pass that comes along with staying in this hotel gives you access to nearly all buses and trains throughout the Black Forest.
Spacious, clean rooms, decorated with taste. A nice blend of traditional and modern elements. Relaxing balcony with view of the river. Good breakfast. We have also had dinner (asian food, mostly japanese) which was excellent. Good location, close to the train station of you need it. Hiking is also possible directly from the hotel.
I loved the proximity to Forbach Banhof and to the hiking trails nearby. Overall, a great value for a 3 night stay with breakfast included. the views are absolutely breathtaking. the staff was extremely friendly, check in was a breeze and it was helpful that so many languages are spoken in order to assist customers.
Very nice hotel with a lot of attention to details. We had a twin room here and it was great - super clean, good beds, a really nice and well designed bathroom. It was quite and we had a good night sleep. The breakfast was excellent with lots of tasty options. I definitely recommend this place.
The room with a terrace with view to the river and and hammock and rest chair was really great to relax in the evening and also to pass by some hours of rain. The staff at the hotel itself was really friendly including staff at the breakfast buffet. The breakfast was also really good.
Super nice stay at the Hotel am Mühlbach. The Kuznecov family make you feel, since the beginning that you are welcome at the Hotel. Their kindness, friendly and warm attention make you feel as you are at home.

Extremely friendly greeting from Slava on arrival. Genuine & chatty. Great location for Westweg walkers on the long climb out of Forbach. Room was large with a balcony and very large bathroom. Wi-fi solid as I had an hour long business zoom call to take with no issues.
This is a delightful hotel operated by delightful people. The salad which accompanied the evening meal was particularly excellent.....and I forgot to tell them so. Thoughtfulness at every turn. The setting, Forbach, is picturesque.

Great hotel along an idyllic creek. Super friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. We had the large family room and it was quite spacious. The air conditioning unit worked well. Such a cute town.
Right on the WestWeg, it has an excellent terrace, wonderful food and comfortable beds. Even though the restaurant was officially closed, they serve dinner to hotel guests.
Lovely hotel, we had a room on the river which was lovely. Staff is polite and helpful. Restaurant on site fusion Asian food really nice and reasonably priced.
