arrived there and it’s informed that we travel with 2 dogs via booking.com. There was a event and all staff are pretty occupied. During check in, we got complained about the dogs and that a wrong room was allocated. The owner lady was extremely upset and complained a lot, that I have to pay additional money. She was stressed due to many guests, however, this should not be the customers problem. It was a funny experience . We have been travelling three weeks, Germany, Italy, Swiss and Lichtenstein. This was the only dog friendly hotel who did not allow dogs in the restaurant. All others at least prepared a separated area in the location. The Ochsen size is big enough to do the same, especially having the luxury to have a smoking area in these days! Anyway, the experience was, a very unpleasant owner with less customer orientation. Friends warned me, never stay at the Alb. 16 years ago my wife and me stayed in the same hotel and have been pleased by the friendliness and good food. However, we have been super disappointed that now also the breakfast is based on cheap back-up bred and cheese ham from the discount super market. Sorry guys, you lost 2 customer.

Wonderful family run hotel, couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating. Looked after our car while we were away cycling along the Danube cycle path, which passes just outside. Food was the best we had on our whole trip and their home brewed beer was excellent!
Such a nice town. Good restaurant for breakfast. We ate at Lowen just nearby. Had good beers at Kleinkunst Café. You definitely have to visit the Blautopf springs and the UrMu museum for prehistoric archeology !

The city is very nice but it's the area around that is the main attraction. The hills with the rocks are very beautiful. There are a lot of hike roots for people with any level of experience.
Blautopf is a very interesting place, especially if you learn more about it. But when we came there the color of the lake was not blue but gray, probably because of the strong rains before our visit. So don't necessarily expect the view of the Blautopf as on the photos.

Blaubeuren (particularly in summer) is a fantastic town.
Blaubeuren (particularly in summer) is a fantastic town. It's historic buildings are wonderful and the town as an energy that other towns of similar size seem to lack. The museum is an absolute must to visit, with human artifacts going back 40,000 years! There are many really good walks which will suit people of varying abilities and the whole atmosphere just oozes charm. Its a UNESCO World Heritiage site, so good to visit if you want to know more about the very beginnings of mankind in Europe
This is a staff-less hotel - you check in online and open the door of your room with a number code. My room was very nice, modern looking, clean, spacious, and in great condition in every respect. It was quiet at night. There even was a fully functional kitchen in the room, which I did not use.
We really liked staying in the Ochsen hotel. Well located, with parking possibilities, all clean, neat, good food, reasonably good beer and a perfect dog of the owner and czech speaking waitress. When visiting Blaubeuren again, will stay here again.
Very quiet hotel. We had a very nice, large room well decorated. Good plumbing in the bathroom and a great view over the mountains. The food and (german) wine were excellent for dinner at a resaonable price. Breakfast was great.
The location is excellent. Parking so easy- which in Europe is hard to come by. The breakfast was excellent for being included in the room fee. The hotel was very quiet and the bed was comfortable.
The location in one of the older parts of Blaubeuren is excellent, and there is a car park right next door. The welcome was friendly, and helpful, and everything was clean and worked well
