During booking, I was a bit afraid of the dark pictures as well as some reviews complaining about the traffic noise.
However, the rooms were very nicely renovated, also no noise from the traffic.

Haus Appel and the Ahrtal Valley are an annual pilgrimage for my former academic colleagues and me. Following the floods last year, we were unsure what we find this year. While there is rebuilding for sure that continues, it was wonderful to find that the hospitality and graciousness of Haus Appel, the beauty and hiking in the valley and the excellent wine and food remain!

Very spacious room, nice bed and good seating area. Bathroom was a bit small but clean and good. Nice location to explore the Age valley. Breakfast is in the building across the street and is a good and extensive breakfast buffet. Free private parking was available behind the building. Staff was friendly and helpful

This property in Altenahr completely met our needs. It is not only brand new, but spacious and well designed
with nice views. The owner definitely has a flair for design. We visited the whole of the Ahr valley while we were there, even going to Blankenheim where the Ahr springs from. Tip: visit Waldschenke Zur Ännchen (named after one of the waitresses). In direction Sinzig. The view and the cream cake are amazing. I’m undecided what was best. We shall come again.
It was a lovely hotel, really friendly staff and we could even still eat something at the restaurant even though they had already started to close down for the evening. The rooms were newly renovated, comfortable and really clean. Breakfast was more like a Break-Feast with literally anything you would ever need.

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes. We have stayed in this area for many years and after the flood disaster wondered if we would ever go back. However Hotel Ruland have certainly given us a reason to return and I am sure once the surrounding building works are complete it will be more than perfect
This is an ordinary decent hotel, but it is the only one operating in the tourist village of Altenahr after the 2021 floods which severely damaged the town. As a result prices are very high, but the place was full, so if you have to be in Altenahr book early.
We like all there, from the first contact, Room, Restaurant food and Service. The Rooms were perfekt. The team were very helpful. I strongly recommend these Hotel, if you want to sleep and eat perfectly.
