The big pros: 10-15 minute walk to local access of the beach, relatively comfortable beds (the mattresses appeared to be new, and had comfort tops), and the pool is set back into the trees, so it feels very immersed in the rainforest. The two staff members we interacted with were also very friendly, as was the very charming rescue dog in the office.

I went to Uvita in Sep because I wanted to see the whale.
I went to Uvita in Sep because I wanted to see the whale. While some other boats did, we didn't get that close to the whale, so the experience was not ideal for me. However, it is an excellent place for surfing, and the tide is perfect.

Uvita was a great surprise. It has a very good vibe and the best waterfalls for us (we love jumping into pools) - El-Pavon and Uvita waterfalls are pearls (and they're almost free which is rare in CR)

Whale watching was amazing, however it feels a little intrusive. We were assured that the boats are only allowed to go out certain times in the day and not at all at certain times of the year. Considering how well Costa Ricans look after nature, I did believe this to be truth.

The property is not in Uvita. It’s in Ojochal. The walk to the beach is NOT a 500 my walk. It’s a very unsafe abandoned trail to a very particular place. The trail arrives in a river. If there is high tide you can’t cross. Not apt for elders or families. The room is overpriced. Breakfast was not as good as other reviews said. Staff was not friendly. Sofa bed was not working we paid extra for the Congo home for a family and it didn’t work. Nobody prepared it either. We asked for linen sheet they gave us one pillow , one linen. Kitchen was not apt for preparing anything. TV and light on the living room was broken.

Uvita is a tourist area, but offered everything we tourists needed--restaurants, gas stations, banks, etc. If you have come for whale-watching, we recommend Bahia Aventuras. They were a little pricier than other companies, but had the fastest boats, which means that if another commercial boat spotted whales and informed the other enterprises, we were there quickly to see what they were encountering.

Everything about the stay was incredible.
Everything about the stay was incredible. The private beach access was great and the feeling of being in the rainforest was the best. We had everything we needed in the condo and waking up to the sounds of the rainforest was so relaxing. Felt very secure with the 24 hour security and parking. Communication was easy and had no issues.

We really liked our stay here as it was just super nice, modern, clean and nicely decorated. The pool area is beautiful with lots of plants surrounding it. Our downstairs room had a little outside sitting area surrounded by palms for privacy. There are 2 nice dogs which would give us company. It was a very relaxing stay. There are a couple of restaurants close by but it's easier to drive to the main road or the beach side of Uvita. The area of the hotel seems to mainly be new houses and is still quite small but therefore quiet.
We loved Sara's place! The apartment was clean and the Aircon worked well! The best thing was the garden and pool were amazing to relax in. The pool was really clean and we really enjoyed swimming in it as the weather is very hot in Uvita. Sara and her husband were so lovely and gave us a lift a couple of times including to the bus stop when we left with our bags which would have been a very sweaty walk! The area was great, a short distance to restaurants and the whale tour agencies and only 5 minutes to the beautiful beach.
I can't say enough good things about Yuli, what a great place to stay! The hotel is beautiful and has a phenomenal yoga studio, pool, and restaurant. I stayed in the dorm-style room and it had tons of space for each traveler. Very clean in shared areas and the rooms. Oscar at the front desk was incredible and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. This will definitely be my go-to spot in Uvita
A cute hotel about 300m walk to the gorgeous Uvita beach! We stayed in one of the small houses, and it was small but plenty of space for 3 adults and 2 children. Comfy beds, friendly staff. It was nice that they cleaned and replaced the towels every day. The bar/restaurant had good food and amazing cocktails.
Great hotel! We had the apartment with 2 bedrooms and it was spacious! Rooms were nicely decorated, modern and clean. The pool is also a great addition. WiFi worked great. Great location not far from Uvita beach.
