Situated in Coco, 200 metres from Coco Beach, Hotel Villa Del Sol features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

Excellent location with a short walk to a quiet corner of Coco beach and some delightful restaurants. The mature gardens and pool area were well kept and never crowded. Our room was spacious and comfortable Breakfast each morning was unfussy and enjoyable. We liked the nice touch of the provision of two camp chairs for use on the beach. Sitting under a tree by the beach in the morning before the heat of the day was a real joy. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The timing of our visit was great.

The timing of our visit was great. No crowds but hot, hot, hot and humid. April 27-May 3. Because so many people visit Costa Rica, the cost of food and just about everything isn't reasonable. We ate at the well known local restaurants which were expensive but good. Too much butter used with the fish, though I should have insisted on braised fish. We ate at Mar Azul. The Mexican restaurant was good. Note, for those who just jump in the car and pick a destination, beware that all the roads aren't paved. We went to Nosara and man-oh-man, though driving but ABSOLUTELY scenic. Glad we had a 4X4 and good ground clearance.

It is a family situation, very very basic.

It is a family situation, very very basic. Clean with a kitchen that had no cooking utilities other than a coffee maker & fridge that did not work. I had a cooler, my own cooking supplies etc so it worked for me. Radio & Tv could be a bit loud but shut down early. I have lived in Latin America, so I understand a family situation where many may not! I loved the hostess! I love the proximity to the beach in the downtown and if you don’t have a vehicle to get around, it’s perfect for that and super inexpensive! Bonuses for travellers who don’t want to be a hostel

Costa Rica is beautiful and the people are friendly and lovely to get to know. There are options for those who are active - think hiking through the rainforest, fishing, surfing or for relaxing - think sitting by the pool or ocean with a good book. The shopping is fun. There are animals and beautiful nature - volcanos, waterfalls, flowers to surround yourself with.

    Easy drive from Liberia Airport.

Easy drive from Liberia Airport. The town is small enough to be friendly and just large enough to have what you need. The beach is nicely maintained and easy to access. The people was very friendly and although the language is Spanish, we didn't have any problems communicating.

    Amazing views from the hills.

Amazing views from the hills. This is a quieter town but plenty of businesses to keep you entertained. CocoNutz and Zi Lounge are the most lively spots for night life. A variety of restaurants including Mexican, Italian, Indian, Mediterranean, BBQ and burgers. MegaSuper for groceries (had everything including liquor). I would happily stay here again.

Nice place to stay and relax.

Nice place to stay and relax. It has nice beachfront restaurants and nice cafes. In Coco I ate at Café Corazón, went for gelatto, ate at El Capricho Mexican Restaurant, at Tortuga, and at El Ancla. Then went further out to Ocotal, and visited Father Rooster on a Wednesday and there was live music which was great. Then visited Hermosa and had a drink during sunset at Aqua Sport. All are nice spots. Ideal if you have a car!

Loved our stay at the palms! We did get a budget room but it didn’t feel like a budget stay at all. Included breakfast is wonderful, restaurant on site was delicious and convenient, pool and ambience of common areas is lovely. It feels like a resort! The bed was very comfortable, clean, and hot water and wifi were superb. Staff were friendly and helpful! Coco beach is 1 min walk and town center is less than 5 minutes plus on-site mini-market for snacks, drinks, supplies, etc. Easy access by taxi to ocotal and playa hermosa beaches as well!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It's just a block away from Coco Beach. It was nice to have an apartment with 2 bedrooms (only 1 bathroom though) when traveling with friends. Especially the big, comfortable veranda for shared time. We appreciated being able to use their laundry one night-just ask staff to help. It was a new concept for us to bring plates, etc. from our apartment kitchen, to get our breakfast, which was the usual fare, and plentiful. Very good air conditioners and Wi-fi. Everybody enjoyed the clean pool.

Great location, a beautiful hotel, directly across from the beach. Walkable into town, secure parking, and the room was cozy and sweet just as I'd hoped after a long day of travel. I lived in CR for 5 years until recently, and this hotel exceeded my expectations. Very clean, well-appointed, and spacious, with a window in my room facing the ocean right across the street. I really recommend the hotel itself.

The host is SO KIND and helpful. The location was great: on a quiet street but very close to the beach and main street. The room is a bedroom in a shared, Costa-Rica-style house, so it gives the feel of a more local stay (as opposed to foreign-styled hotels). There's also a kitchen guests can use, which helped us save money (Playa del Coco is expensive!!!).

Clean, modern condo with great views of Playa del Coco. There was a nice sense of community in the condo. Neighbours were friendly and helpfull with info on where to shop and go. There were some nice touches on the supplies - cooler bag, beach towels, beach umbrella, that we appreciated.
