The hotel is set in a lovely old colonial house. The rooms are quite big. The beds are comfortable, the linen and towels are white and clean.
Breakfast was simple, but tasty (eggs, toasts, tea/coffee/chocolate, fruit and juice).
It was also possible to have lunch at the hotel, which we did twice. Really nice homemade food for a good price.
The rooftop had a lovely terrace with rocking chairs, hammocks and a small pool.

When I arrived at the room I noticed there was no fridge in the room. Bear in mind Santa Marta is a very hot city, you will need at least 3 showers a day, so like the aircon a fridge is a must, unless you like to drink warm water. When I asked at the reception she said all the rooms have a fridge. Doubled check, mine doesn't!! They said they will ask for a fridge to be put in the room. The next day I came back to the hotel around 4pm, there was still not a sign of the fridge, I got really upset about it, but when I came back later that day. The fridge was there.
I don't understand why in the Carribbean side of Colombia the fridge is an option.
Anyway it was sorted at the end and believe me it's not a luxury rather a necessity.
The room was small and basic but clean.
