Had a lovely stay at Hotel Rondinella. Its in a central location, close to shops, restaurants, ferries and the railway station. Our room had a balcony with the most wonderful view of Lake Maggiore.
The hotel was probably built in the 60s or 70s and it has a great retro feel about it.
Oh and the staff were just lovely too!

Very enjoyable.
Very enjoyable. Visconteo Castle was interesting and the funicular to Madonna del Sasso was fun. Good pizza at the Ristorante Funicolare. Be sure to take the tram further up to Cardada. The views were well worth the trip!

A small, yet beautiful city on the Swiss part of Lago Maggiore which, for those who are on a circuit, is a must-come-to in order to visit Sacro Monte Madonna del Sasso. A jewel with an amazing view over the city and the lake, accessible both by foot or by the funicular (lovely).

Main reason to go their was the Indian Ticino Ride, Close to the lakeside and in the middle of the city we could celebrate until Midnight. Time was to short to discover all the beauty in and around. We took some short rides with our motorbikes having best weather.
We will come again.

Awesome small town on the shore of Lago Maggiore. Clean, all buildings and streets are perfectly maintained. Very green, extremely picturesque - placed between Alps slopes and lake shores , with palms and lot of flowers growing around. Small but beautiful Old town, tasteful food. Just a small heaven on Earth, it still is expensive.

Locarno was fantastic but the funicular operator put me off. He refused to speak and just pointed to tickets and signs when asked questions. Nobody was there and his vibe was we we're putting him out.
Every aspect of our stay was excellent: the cozy atmosphere, the well-sized room with plenty of sunlight, the breathtaking view of the lake, the delicious breakfast, and the convenient location. But the best of all was the host, Andrea, the nicest person we met in over a year of living in Switzerland. He went out of his way to make the one night we spent in Locarno memorable, even showing us around on his tuk-tuk and dropping us off at the train station at the end of our stay.
The location and the view from the balcony was superb. The room was very clean and people at reception were nice. Having an air-condition in the room during the heatwave was useful.
We used the hotel bikes to ride around Locarno and Ascona for a day and the bikes were in a good shape and well maintained.
The balcony is very nice. The apartment is of good size and very new. The bed is comfortable. There is a coffee machine with plenty of capsules, something unusual and very welcome. It is somehow between Locarno and Ascona, so both can be reached by walk. However, busses and trains stop nearby.
We were a large group in the area enjoying the Locarno Film Festival. What a hotel! What a staff! What a cappuccino! It's a great location with comfortable rooms in a classy home-like building that is hosted by the staff with the mostest. You will not be disappointed if you pick this place.
The staff was wonderful: helpful and able to speak multiple languages easily. Breakfast was delicious and varied. The pool was nice and so were the sun bathing chairs available for free. I loved the mattress and the pillow, very comfy! I booked a single room with lake view.
