We took the train from Geneva airport, it's a lovely journey around Lake Geneva. Its very easy and relaxing with a change on to a local train to take you up the valley. We stayed there for 4 nights and skied each day. It's not a typical ski resort. It has all you might need, supermarket, pharmacy, boulangerie etc and a few bars and restaurants (no real late night stuff). We had some great food and bars were full of locals and a few skiers. Getting up to Verbier is simple with a lift that runs 05.15-23.45 and takes about 10 minutes. It is only 850m high so has a bottom of the valley vibe, I also imagine it would also be great for the summer.

The Le Chable lift gives direct access to the higher stations in Verbier without having to queue again in Verbier. There is immediate access to the Bruson area which provides a good range of skiing for an afternoon away from Verbier. The Verbier Four Valleys resort is severely limited by access across the system It can take two hours to cross the system to enter a range of drag lifts. The Yellow routes are a major issue. They are reasonably moderate black runs, but as they are off-piste my insurance does not cover them. For this reason alone I will not return to Verbier.

My son and I stayed in Le Châble along our hike across the Haute Route. It's well located before heading east into Col Termin / Louvie and the Grand Desert. It's a small quaint town and a couple of decent grocery stores and restaurants. There is a train connection back to Martigny. Hotels in town offer free passes for the lifts up to Verbier and beyond up into the alpine areas. We were happy with our decision to stay a night here along the way.

Our son lives in the area so we wanted to spend Christmas with his family. We went up the mountains to view the wonderful scenery and also drove around the area. We had a great stay and found several restaurants in the area where we had some great meals. Generally we had a wonderful stay. Verbier was great with great views and meals.

Le Chable is perfect if you want to ski the fantastic slopes of Verbier ski area, but you don't want to pay the high prices of food and lodging in Verbier, and you don't mind missing some of the apres ski in Verbier.

Great access to train station and lifts - beat the Medran queues by jumping on the Verbier lift here. Lockers at lift station great. Bakery good, bar opposite also enjoyable. Pizza restaurant excellent, went there three times in two weeks.

The hosts (owners?) were so good to us. Our dinner that night was by far my favorite in Switzerland because all the courses tasted delicious and they were served with such kindness and professionalism. That morning, we said we would skip breakfast because we were leaving early for our hike. Yet they left us a delicious spread of food--even a pitcher of fresh orange juice and thermoses full of warm coffee--all arranged in a beautiful way on our table for two. It's really a special place.

nice hotel and staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Location is great just next to lift and train station in le chable and it is nice to have the use of the sauna and outdoor jacuzzi at the end of a day MTB. The staff were very helpful and accommodating with early check in as well as allowing us to use the shower at the sauna at the end of our day after check out. The hotel is very peaceful. Nice toiletries in the bathroom.

We had a short overnight stay here during our Walker's Haute Route hike - the room was very basic but comfortable, the bathrooms spacious, and the breakfast fulfilling. A supermarket was right around the corner, and we were also given free passes for various attractions in the valley which included the gondola to Verbiers which we took advantage of and enjoyed a picnic and a sunset view over the valley.

Staff is really nice and helpful! It's really conveniently located directly in the gondola station to both Verbier and Les Ruinettes on one side and Bruson on other. Despite gondola operating just next door it is quiet. Rooms are basic but clean, with quite comfy beds and nice common area with sofas. Good value for money for a basic accommodation for a skiing trip. The basic breakfast is ok.

The owner was superb friendly and helpful. We were the only guests (three of us), so we could use all facilities. There is a very cousy common place with sofas, free coffee and chocolates :) There is a bakery in a building next to the hotel and market very very close too. There is a bar at the hotel, where one can buy beer or something too eat. The hotel is very close to the cable car.

Exceptional hosts, beautiful home, perfect location for skiing. Actually faster to get to the ski area staying here near the Gondola than many locations in Verbier. Hosts were beyond helpful with mountain knowledge, walked us through the ski map, and gave us recommendations for going out and dining. Can’t wait to come back and will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here the second time, and do not regret; so overall this hotel is good. Location is it's main advantage, offering a lot of possibilities for hiking in the area, combined with a free pass for all types of transport in the valley. Staff was very helpful. We needed an early breakfast, and it was arranged in a very good manner.

Excellent location short walk from the bubble car up to Verbier. Friendly staff, great coffee. Surprisingly spacious rooms (usually bedrooms in the mountains are small!). Breakfast - buffet style continental - is simple but good. Shower was hot & powerful. Heated boot rack for ski boots!

Very charming little place, fresh plums from the tree out front, and a friendly cat named felix. Owner gave a real good effort to try to bridge the communication gap with two non-French speakers and helped us out with a discount for the cable car to Verbier.
