It is a place suitable for people doing business, in fact the pool was closed for events and had a ridiculous schedule. The hotel was very crowded and since it had a good breakfast sometimes there was no place to sit. The breakfast staff was always very helpful and did what they could.

Home of samba, Brazil’s 2nd largest city is sassy, seductive and spectacular. The Rio Carnival is legendary the world over for outrageous costumes and infectious rhythms.
Host of the 2014 World Cup final in Maracanã stadium and the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics, Rio de Janeiro is forward-thinking. High rises line Ipanema beach and you can find dozens of rollerbladers on the promenades at any time.
The hottest spot is Copabacana, a great place to try biscoito globo, a typical Rio beach snack. Sip a caipirinha here while the sun sets over the bay and mountains – unforgettable. It doesn’t end there though. Clubbing in Rio is fantastic and ranges from techno to traditional bossa nova. Bohemian beats can be found in Santa Teresa and Lapa, whose trams pass over a double-arched viaduct.
Overlooking all this from Corcovado mountain is iconic Christ the Redeemer, welcoming the world to Rio with arms outstretched. Take the funicular railway up to this statue on the edge of lush Tijuca Park for incredible views. Accessed by cable car, Sugar Loaf Mountain is also not to be missed.
Rio de Janeiro Airport is well linked to the ‘Marvellous City’, but traffic can be manic, so leave enough time to reach it from your Rio hotel, apartment or hostel booked through Booking.com.

I liked the Santa Teresa district, the historic tram ride, the Seralon Steps. the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. They weren't too crowded on the day we visited as the weather was overcast and cool. I personally preferred Copacabana beach. A surprise was the Copacabana WW2 Fort which is well worth visiting. There are 2 lovely restaurants there which in my opinion give the best overall view of Copacabana Beach.
My personal highlight was the top of the Sugar Loaf mountain which you reach by cable car. The 360 degree view from up there is phenomenal. The Jesus Redeemer statue was obviously also a highlight except that the viewing platform is totally overcrowded which spoiled the experience a bit for me. The statue is much bigger than I expected. The Botanical Gardens just under the Corcovado Mountain were stunning and very peaceful. And the very modern Museum of Tomorrow was also worth a visit.

Rio has something for all tastes: Beachgoers, history lovers, lovers of fine cuisine, nature lovers, music lovers, etc. I, personally, enjoy the lovely glimpses of beautiful architecture throughout the city. I've travelled all over Brazil, but there is nothing like the Rio vibe and the hospitality of the cariocas.

as i have stayed there many times it was no problem but for someone who does not know the area it will be very daunting as there is a lot of homeless people sleeping on streets. Getting about the city is easy once you get to know the local transport but again very scary for a tourist who is not street wise

I was here for business conference but came a bit early to do some sight seeing. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I spent 6 days here and thought it was the perfect amount of time to see and eat my way thorugh Rio de Janeiro. Used my wise travel card to get around which made things easier. Uber is reliable and safe. Overall enjoyable experience

The hostel is in an excellent part of Rio with easy access to the Metro for the city as a whole. The area is safe even at night and we never had any issues!
The facilities are great and the staff are super friendly!
Some people complain about the steps - they are not that bad. About six flights up which is tough with your bags in the heat, but no reason not to book this amazing hostel!
Remember this is a hostel, if you are looking for luxury there are plenty of overpriced hotels in Copacabana!
Say hello to the Macau!
- Large, comfy bed
- Lovely view from rooftop of the endless beach. Great to swim in the rooftop pool
- Good location 2 mins walk away from the beach and under 10 mins walk from a number of good and lively restaurants. (Obviously is in Barra da Tijuca so far away from major tourist hotspots like Ipanema, Copacabana, Santa Teresa, Centro, Lapa)
- Friendly and helpful reception staff who spoke fluent English
- 17 floors but lots of modern lifts meant you weren't waiting ages
- V clean
- Midday checkout always a bonus!
The location of this hotel is excellent, a block away from the Fairmont. Just steps from Copacabana beach and a quick uber ride from major destinations. Ipanema is a longer walk but posto 7 is a short 10-15 min walk. The room facilities are amazing and they offer usb charging a big desk, and spacious restroom. The value for the money is exceptional, and I have no regrets. Do not pay attention to the bad reviews.
The location to Copacabana Beach is brilliant and it's only a 15 minute walk to Ipanema. Alloro, the hotel restaurant is lovely as is the breakfast should you opt in as part of your stay. The pool bar has a great view but is very small.
The hotel is a good choice for trip in Rio. The breakfast is excellent. Cleanliness is very good. The hotel is meters from Copacabana beach, Ipanema is also nearby.
