Lovely location and house, and charming host. Only stayed one night while travelling through but think this would be a good base for exploring the surrounding area.

The weather was great, so it was a pleasure to walk around in the gardens of the property and in the beautiful forests. We had a nice little terrace opening on the garden. Lobbes is a wonderful place for people who like to walk or ride a bicycle around the little lake or in the forests, it's on the Ravelroute. The restaurant on the property is very nice, the food (french and belgian cuisine) is delicious, a pity it is not open every day because it is about the only restaurant nearby for people who don't have a car. Public transport is non-existent out of the big cities in our country. However there's a small Delhaize at walking distance and it is possible to eat in your very big room or on your terrace (table + chairs)+ you have a small fridge in your room, which is very convenient. Breakfast is good, they prepare an omelette for you if you wish, they make their own yoghurt, there are lots of fruit. The only thing I didn't like was the coffee (not strong enough for me, but my friend liked it). You can rent a mountain-bike if you wish or try your hand at fishing in the little lake (I saw some pretty impressive fishes jumping out of the water from time to time!). I would definitely recommend this place for nature lovers and for stressed people who desperately want out of the city for a few golden days, far from all stress!
