Walhalla's Star Hotel, hotel in Walhalla

Walhalla's Star Hotel is a boutique country hotel that combines the unique feel of the gold-era with a natural bush environment.

Both dinner and breakfast were enjoyable and the dining area was clean and well presented. Service was quick, helpful and pleasant. The hotel was adequately warm and pleasant to enter after the cold outside. The hotel is centrally located and easy to access.

We loved so much about Wally’s Edge Farm. The fireplaces (both indoor and outdoor), the hot tub, the old tractor for the kids to play on, the farm animals, fresh chicken eggs, close proximity to Walhalla and Baw Baw. The kids had an absolute ball, could have stayed for many more days.

It was my first time travelling to Walhalla and definitely won't be the last. This gorgeous little town is full of history, beautiful views, and lots to do and explore. I would definitely recommend checking out the Gold Mine, Goldfields Railway, the Tramline Walk, and the Walhalla Ghost Tour. We stayed at Lee Manor and thought that it was a fantastic cozy home with perfect views.

A lovely town steeped in history around gold mining.

A lovely town steeped in history around gold mining. Lovely walks everywhere, tree heaven, parks, creeks & streams. Lovely old houses dating back to the mid 1800's. Peaceful & quiet area for chilling out and relaxing. Friendly folk in the small businesses. The train ride from Walhalla to Thomson is a must do as is the Long Tunnel Mine tour. I'm disappointed that I couldn't walk the steep hill to the cemetery as I would have liked to read the headstones. The cricket pitch would have been good to get to but once again, too steep for me at my age. The Witchery Cafe serves great coffee and hot chocolate but you have to ask for marshmallows...lol. We ate at the local pub, food was average. All in all, a fabulous place to visit.

We loved our stay in Walhalla.

We loved our stay in Walhalla. The locals are very friendly and helpful. They really appreciate you visiting and spending money in their historic town. The town relies on volunteers to keep attractions running and open, so do your bit to help keep our history alive! If you can, stay in the town and support local accomodation and food outlets. An amazing little town! We will be back.

The charm of the old world feel of Walhalla was amazing.

The charm of the old world feel of Walhalla was amazing. There are plenty of things to do such as the Gold Mine Tour, the old cemetery, lots of walks and if you are there on a Saturday night the Ghost Tour. If you like train rides the local train runs regularly and is a nice trip. The only place that is open for evening meals is the Wally Pub, but the meals are a good size and are very good. Breakfast we had at the Witchery Cafe, open at 10am. Nice and friendly. If you are self catering at Walhalla there are no places to buy provisions, so make sure you stock up before you get there.

    The most beautiful town.

The most beautiful town. Spett's Cottage was a delight to stay in, an original building with stunning gardens. I cannot wait to go back. The walk to Cemetery, the drive to the Cricket Ground were both well worth doing. The train trip to Thomson was brilliant and you MUST have dinner at the Pub. The Bangers and Mash were divine!

Walhalla was an awesome place to spend a few days.

Walhalla was an awesome place to spend a few days. There is so much to see and do, including the Goldfields railway ride, the mine tour, a meal at the Wally pub, lunch at the cafe in town, and the best attraction of all was the ghost tour absolute highlight! There are some beautiful walks to venture on, including a hike up to the cricket oval. We will definitely visit this quaint town again.

Whitlow Manor is a beautiful, roomy and cozy house in Walhalla. Nathan our host was fantastic, providing us with lots of information about the house and the local tourist attractions before our arrival. We loved the house and Nathan had thought of everything - every time I thought I had forgotten something (tomato sauce, glad wrap etc) I found it was already provided for us in the house. Would highly recommend Whitlow Manor for a family stay.

This place was very central to everything in Walhalla. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. A packet of Tim Tams on the table was a nice surprise when we got there. The bed was very comfortable, Every thing you needed kitchen wise was there and a BBQ out the front if you were so inclined. There were plenty of DVDs available if you got bored at night.

The setting of the Cottage was amazing. A cosy cottage in the main street of Walhalla. The cottage, rustic and an acknowledgement of the history, also had modern facilities for our comfort.
