The house is beautiful and has all the required amenities. Love the fact that breakfast essentials were provided.
A lovely town steeped in history around gold mining.
A lovely town steeped in history around gold mining. Lovely walks everywhere, tree heaven, parks, creeks & streams. Lovely old houses dating back to the mid 1800's. Peaceful & quiet area for chilling out and relaxing. Friendly folk in the small businesses. The train ride from Walhalla to Thomson is a must do as is the Long Tunnel Mine tour. I'm disappointed that I couldn't walk the steep hill to the cemetery as I would have liked to read the headstones. The cricket pitch would have been good to get to but once again, too steep for me at my age. The Witchery Cafe serves great coffee and hot chocolate but you have to ask for marshmallows...lol. We ate at the local pub, food was average. All in all, a fabulous place to visit.

We loved our stay in Walhalla.
We loved our stay in Walhalla. The locals are very friendly and helpful. They really appreciate you visiting and spending money in their historic town.
The town relies on volunteers to keep attractions running and open, so do your bit to help keep our history alive!
If you can, stay in the town and support local accomodation and food outlets.
An amazing little town!
We will be back.

The charm of the old world feel of Walhalla was amazing.
The charm of the old world feel of Walhalla was amazing. There are plenty of things to do such as the Gold Mine Tour, the old cemetery, lots of walks and if you are there on a Saturday night the Ghost Tour. If you like train rides the local train runs regularly and is a nice trip.
The only place that is open for evening meals is the Wally Pub, but the meals are a good size and are very good.
Breakfast we had at the Witchery Cafe, open at 10am. Nice and friendly.
If you are self catering at Walhalla there are no places to buy provisions, so make sure you stock up before you get there.

The most beautiful town.
The most beautiful town. Spett's Cottage was a delight to stay in, an original building with stunning gardens. I cannot wait to go back. The walk to Cemetery, the drive to the Cricket Ground were both well worth doing. The train trip to Thomson was brilliant and you MUST have dinner at the Pub. The Bangers and Mash were divine!

Walhalla was an awesome place to spend a few days.
Walhalla was an awesome place to spend a few days. There is so much to see and do, including the Goldfields railway ride, the mine tour, a meal at the Wally pub, lunch at the cafe in town, and the best attraction of all was the ghost tour absolute highlight!
There are some beautiful walks to venture on, including a hike up to the cricket oval.
We will definitely visit this quaint town again.

Loved the mine tour and the train ride, So peaceful, lovely...
Loved the mine tour and the train ride, So peaceful, lovely historic feel to the whole village. To get to the walks there are steep slopes first so not
ideal if that is an issue. Eating out is a bit limited and not cheap so be prepared. Nothing is open on Tuesdays so be aware.
Was a lovely place to base our family (4 adults + 3kids) while exploring Walhalla. It was a great / peaceful location, walking distance to town. The house was clean and comfortable. the kitchen, living, dining was spacious and cozy with the log fire. Had a great balcony to relax, the kids were super excited to see the king parrots that paid us a visit. The house had everything we needed and more. Nathan was informative, helpful and prompt with communication. Can't fault this place.
The location - being just above the train station where you can watch the engines shunting - was delightful. Not to mention just how close it was to everything in Walhalla. The building itself is charming, and perfect for a quick getaway for two. As long as you don't mind steps, you'll have a good time. The bed was very comfortable and the decorations charming. I loved the wood heater, and it did a good job of warming the place.
Absolutely stunning cottage in the perfect location overlooking the beautiful valley and township of Walhalla. The cottage had everything we needed for our short stay, and we loved waking up to feed the local wild parrots whilst admiring the view. The cottage is positioned so it gets sun all day, and is so close to everything in town. A great escape and would highly recommend!
Best Location in Walhalla! A real wow factor home! Awesome facilities- owners have thought of everything! Great spa, views are magnificent! Washing facilities are a must have for families and people
hiking. Has a large smart TV, perfect for movie night. Its clean and comfortable! You feel safe and secure, a wonderful place to de-stress and unwind! Highly recommend ✅
Lovely timber cottage just part the main, although hardly bustling, centre of Walhalla. The cottage was cute and comfortable with unexpected added extras like a block of Lindt chocolate. Walhalla is lovely - with pretty timber buildings all built in 19th century style. We enjoyed the train trip and bushwalked back from the Thomson river station.
Walhalla is a very special place today with a rich history. It is so tranquil, beautiful and interesting. Sancreed allows you to immerse yourself in the past and enjoy all of the comforts of the present. The whole Walhalla and Sancreed experience is just sublime.
Seriously consider Walhalla and then choose Sancreed Cottage!
Had the loveliest stay in Lee Manor. Cosy and like home away from home. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and great outdoor areas.
Gorgeous views from the deck with lots of friendly birds visiting. Short stroll to the pub and all sights in Walhalla. Really enjoyed our stay.
Great hosts in Richard and Janette, went out of their way to make us comfortable and offered advice and conversation about Walhalla and the things to do, yummy breakfasts and lovely accommodation with spectacular views. Totally recommend staying at Wild Cherry.
Jeanette and Richard were incredibly lovely and accommodating hosts who went above and beyond to chat to us about activities to do and everything else we needed. The breakfast was delicious with amazing views. Definitely recommend staying with them in Walhalla!
The location was perfect and the cottage is right on the main street and close to everything you'd want to do in Walhalla. The cottage itself is lovely and cozy and we enjoyed relaxing there after long days out.
The cottage is located in the heart of Walhalla, within walking distance to all points of interest in the town. It was comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed. Amazing views from the windows.
The setting of the Cottage was amazing. A cosy cottage in the main street of Walhalla. The cottage, rustic and an acknowledgement of the history, also had modern facilities for our comfort.
Michael, Russel, Tilly and Rupert are so welcoming, you really feel cared for. Dinner was delicious, room was spacious. The hotel has a comfy lounge to relax and enjoy a tea
Spectacular building that has stood the test of time. the bedroom was warm and spacious. The dining room was beautiful and perfectly captured the unique history of Walhalla.
location to centre of Walhalla and points of interest. had all the facilities to be self contained or you could eat at the Walhalla hotel 5 minutes walk away.
