Lovely view from kitchen and bbq area was great. Used it twice.
A beautiful location on the Wilderness area of Tasmania.
A beautiful location on the Wilderness area of Tasmania. Strahan is situated on the beautiful Macquarie Harbour and has interesting walks and tourist attractions on offer. A Cruise on the harbour and up the Gordon River is a great way to immerse yourself in the local surrounds and history, with a trip to Sarah Island and a Rainforest walk included. A trip on the Wilderness Railway takes you into the rainforest to the site of a former village. The long running play 'The ship that never was' is a highly entertaining way to learn about some of the last convicts on Sarah Island and their attempt at escaping. The drive to and from Strahan provides stunning scenery, just take it easy, the roads are very twisty.

Beautiful peaceful place.
Beautiful peaceful place. Recommend the Gordon river cruise and the play of the "Ship that never was!"
Both tell you something about the history of Strahan
Risby is a great restaurant just across the road.

Most things were within walking distance.
Most things were within walking distance. There were forests and beach walks. There were a variety of restaurants. The seafood was great. There was an atmosphere of tranquility even though the weather can be wild. We did not do the major attractions (boat and train rides).

We enjoyed staying in Strahan, however, food wise and hospitality wise; it was poor. There was no information about the restaurants we wanted to dine in and staff around these food places were not helpful. Internet is terrible!

We enjoyed the opportunity to experience the magnificent Gordon River and to walk in the adjacent rainforest and see the ancient Huon Pines and other plant species. A special surprise was the walk on the Hogarth Falls Track in the People’s Park, a magical rainforest gem in Strahan.

A fabulous hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the bay in Strahan. Didn’t really know what to expect as the hotel is quite spread out (different rooms in different locations around the immediate area), but it was ideal. Stayed in a room (well a terraced room within a row of terraces) with a view over the water. Just gorgeous. Room was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a short stay. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the location is perfect, especially if you’re taking a cruise.
The boutique style and the history of the hotel, excellent customer service and close to the waterfront and People's Park. The complimentary continental breakfast is awesome!
