The air conditioning in the charming Australian pub was pleasantly cool, and the staff displayed exceptional friendliness and helpfulness. It was precisely what I required at the time, and at an excellent value. I appreciate the quaint rural towns where good manners and politeness are the norm.

The Roundhouse was a beautiful motel, unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open as I think they were basically closed but there are enough food places open. The young lady at reception was cheerful and very helpful..... I would certainly recommend staying here.

It was terrible, no shops opened both Sunday or Monday morning for breakfast. Pub Sunday night was good for a meal, but not very welcoming. There was absolutely nothing to see or do in this town which was disappointing.

We felt very unsafe in Peterborough.
We felt very unsafe in Peterborough. Saw an obvious drug deal happen outside our hotel. Heard loud fighting in the street overnight. Were worried our car would be stolen or damaged. There was one cafe open that was okay but seemed to be nowhere else apart from a restaurant at a petrol station. Food from that restaurant was inedible. Supermarket seemed okay.

We were there in the weekend so not many shops opened, however we visited the information centre, and was surprised by their knowledge of the area, and we booked to see the Peterborough Steamtown show. It was well worth the visit.

Peterborough Takeaway shop in the main street had great food and the foodland was well stocked. Steamtown was definately our favourite place with so much history and the night time Lights and Sounds Tour was excellent. It is easy to get around the town by walking and the roads are well signed for travelling by car. Lots of other towns nearby to visit as well.

The history of the town as major railway crossroad and maintenance centre is very intersting. There are some beautiful old buildings dating back to when Peterborough was a major centre. There is quite a lot to do if you are intersted in trains and railways.

A charming town with some interesting shops for those wanting to collect antiques etc. Great spot for those interested in railways/trains. We ate dinner at the Junction Hotel and had a fabulous meal, much more than we expected on the plate and well presented and cooked to our liking. The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. The lighting was very soothing and romantic, i.e. they had turned off the nasty white lights and had soft lighting around the whole venue and there was a log fire which was lovely on a cold winter night. We ate breakfast at the cafe in the old picture cinema, at the end of town near the pharmacy. Good breakfast, great service, some interesting "stuff" on display there.
