Lovely and tasteful cottage! It was very homely and Kathy & Wally made it even more welcoming by keeping the fireplace started to warm up the cottage before our arrival. On top of that, the fridge was kindly filled with milk, ham, eggs, fruit jellies, butter. There were also breads prepared for us alongside plenty of jams, peanut butter.
Apart from the fireplace, we were able to keep warm with electric blankets and the heaters. Kathy would also offer to help start the fireplace before our return in the evening. My kids loved the bunk bed and there were also toys that were enough to keep them entertained. You can also find board games, books, DVDs in the cottage!
Como Accommodation provides self-contained cottages featuring spacious lounge areas with a fireplace and heating, a well-equipped kitchen and a terrace.

We loved the shops in Olinda and Sassafras just down the road. Easy walking, sitting in the sun at Dudley’s having a wine was relaxing. The trees and the beautiful Dandenong botanical gardens were amazing. It is like a little haven just out of Melbourne, all the people working in shops are so friendly it is just such an awesome little town.
Because it is so incredible it is getting really busy on weekends.

The townships of Sassafras and Olinda offer many quirky and artistic shopping and dining experiences. Alternatively you can have a typical aussie bush experience. The many massive gardens in the area are a must. The Alfred Nicholas Gardens are great any time and the Botanic gardens rhododendrens are sensational in season. The area along the Tourist road and out to Kallista is beautiful.
I highly recommend a visit to this area.

The place was picked by the photos and they were out if date . The spa wasn't the same as the picture. And my wife is a invalid so the spa was very difficult to use for her as the height was very dangerous. It clearly isn't the photo which was advertised. Also there was no area for standing outside if it rained no cover at all. Also very noisy being down stairs can hear constant noises. The breakfast was good and the place is warm. It's clean but it's less then the pictures are discibing .

At first they seemed nice, but when we walked into the back in a dark (what seemed to be a garage or something, messy paper work everywhere) we just brushed it off and we regret not looking at the place before paying the remaining money.
When she showed us around she pointed out all the faulty appliances that we shouldn't be using, she asked my husband if he was a handyman and how she gets some of her guest to help her 'fix' the place up. Even if my husband is a handyman we are on our anniversary getaway, we came there to relax not work.
The handle of the sliding door (which is basically your main entrance) is broken and anyone can break in literally with a ruler, no security at all.
When we saw the bathroom she told us that she took 3 light bulbs out and only left us with 1, when we asked why she replied "because guest leave the lights on when they go out".
It was so dusty and dirty, when we rocked up the towels were on the oil heater cause they weren't dried and ready for us, the towel rack broke while she was showing us around. The bed sheets didn't look clean nor did they smell clean, we saw some bed bugs on the bed and this put us off straight away.
We booked the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath, there was no balcony or mountain view for us. I believe that as guest we deserve to have a clean, comfortable and secure environment to stay in especially when we are paying $320 a night.
We didn't end up staying at any of the 2 nights that we booked, We were so disappointed and outraged so we just went back home.
We did call and try to compromise to get half our money back but they didn't return any of our calls or messages
Absolutely the worst way to end our anniversary getaway!!!!

Couldn't visit gardens or national parks - most closed due to damage from wild weather - however, normally these are lovely to visit.
The villages along the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road can get quite crowded on weekends, so if you can visit during the week, it will be more peaceful.
there are plenty of food options around, including some good 'country pubs'.
Plentiful breakfast supplies ready in the fridge and cupboard. Perfect location, opposite shops and a short driving distance to all Mt Dandenong attractions. Very spacious cottage, lovely deck to catch the afternoon sun. Perfectly working heating system, beautiful fireplace, firewood replaced
when needed. Lovely owners who very quickly came to our rescue when our two year old locked us out! Would highly recommend to family and friends to stay here. Thank you.
I don’t normally write reviews, but I must compliment Jing on your property.
We were absolutely delighted with the Blue and White House. All breakfast provisions were generously supplied, just a short stroll from the main part of Olinda Set in lovely tranquil gardens surrounded by rainforest.
It was perfect for our visit for a family wedding, and I’ll definitely be recommending it :)
Kookaburra Cottage. Everything ...... from the staff to the location to the attention to detail. The Complimentary breakfast foods are more than welcome, the heater was SO warm on the 2 degree mornings, the bed was comfy, the decor is wonderful, great couches, the gardens are beautiful and well maintained, fully equipped kitchen, spa bath, and everything was super clean.
The studio is compact and very well appointed - all you need is there! Very comfortable and as near as you can get to the centre of Olinda. Near great walks and the botanical gardens. Jasna, the host, was available when needed and very caring. Just what we needed, so we extended our stay.
this was by far my favourite place I have ever stayed at! the beautiful owners of these cottages were more then welcoming and went out of there way everyday to make you had everything you needed and more. I will definitely be staying here again. I HIGHLY recommend this gorgeous place!!
A gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location. Communication with the owners was so easy, and everything was set up for our comfort. Loved the soft dressing gowns, milk and OJ - all little touches that you dont get in hotels or motels. Will definitely come again.
Staff is very nice. Bed is absolutely comfy. Love the themed room, it is quaint and felt the old fashioned vibe. It is perfectly located right across the places we wish to visit in Olinda. The tub is the highlight of our stay.
Lovely cosy cottage - great attention to detail. Everything was done to make us comfortable and at home.
Easy drive to the gardens, Sassafras and in the evening, it was a short walk to a lovely little pub/diner (Kelly's)
Great quiet 2 bedroom cottage with large full-equipped kitchen. Underfloor heating was a boon, as was the large amount of breakfast supplies. Very clean and comfortable. Walkable path through it's scrambled bush garden.
Location was excellent. Setting was very nice. Cottage was charming, but with a stylish, modern twist. We made use of the cast iron fire place, which created a cosy atmosphere. Had our little dog with us. We loved it.
Beautiful location , close to restaurants etc in Olinda. Nice room setup in a historical building. Generous breakfast ingredients to make breakfast for two people. Hosts were polite and helpful.
Mary Cards was the perfect base for our Dandenongs stay. The accommodation was very comfortable and breakfast provisions were generous. Everything we required was at our fingertips.
The place was amazing. We really enjoyed the spa bath and the greenery around the cottage. The food provided was great and we had a lovely time. It’s a must visit for a couple.
