American River is a bit out of the way, and KI Lodge is almost as far as you can go before the road ends!
We had a superior King Bayview room, which had a nice balcony, 2 decent beds and was tastefully decorated.
Its features include tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, an iron and ironing board, and a room safe.
And thank you to the hotel for the “welcome gift” of a bottle of wine and cookies; very thoughtful!
There is an a la carte restaurant and a bar, which served food. We chose the latter and were quite happy with the selection of meals available.
It has a marked walk in their rear grounds, which we did, and were lucky to see glossy black Cockatoos in the wild.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Also, it's only 40 mins to the ferry, so very convenient.
Free Wi-Fi and spectacular views across Nepean Bay are on offer at Kangaroo Island Seaview Motel. Located on the main street of Kingscote, it has an outdoor courtyard with covered barbecue area.
