Killcare Beach House, hotel in Killcare

We were only there for 1 night at the end of May (ie winter) to attend an event, so location didn't matter to us, but in summer it would be an awesome beach holiday location. Close to beach, which itself was gorgeous. Upstairs was fantastic- roomy, comfortable, clean, very well fitted out and equipped, super balcony and back yard. Bedrooms were big, beds comfy, good lighting, pillows etc. Good sized bathroom- very clean and well appointed. Shower water pressure was very very low though and not much water came out and it was not that hot - not great on a very cold morning, but we did see water restriction signs in the area. Aircon/heating in lounge/kitchen area was very effective, and this was a nice big comfy space. Rest of house was freezing though- it was only 10C overnight and heating supplied was inadequate - every room just had a tiny desktop-size fan heater. But, it's meant to be a summer vacation place and we were there at the start of winter so ... and it was unseasonably cold. We were only 3 so we didn't use downstairs- it opened directly off garage, was very small but had good beds, kitchen, bathroom. Was quite dark even at noon. Tiny lounge space. Also very very cold. Overall a fantastic summer spot for a large group.

It was nice to explore the coastal bush walks in Boudhi forest. We walked from the Maitland Bay information centre to Maitland Bay, and then from there to Little Beach. It was a beautiful walk, but took us longer than we expected to get to Little Beach. It took about 3 and a half hours.

    This property is so lovely.

This property is so lovely. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. Great staff, great food, very comfortable accommodation. The fireplace made our room so cosy and romantic. The sound of the stream by our room made us feel worlds away. The self serve bar in the caravan near the pool was very unique and enjoyable, what a great idea! Will definately be back.

The location is idyllic, especially the back of the property, which looks out to the bush and has many Kookaburra birds. It is a close walk to Killcare Beach, which has a flagged swimming area and a pleasant surf club cafe. It is near some great bushwalks; our favourite was walking through Boudi National Park up to the Bullimah lookout.
