It was a lovely 3 day break. We took long walks in the mornings and sat on our balcony had coffee a real pleasure to be there. Took a walk down the long Jetty which was lovely.
Although Oysters were our main reason for coming here unfortunately only in their shells were available and we couldn't shuck them so we missed out. Never mind the RSL Bowls club had lovely meals and we ate there each night. We would stay there again in a flash.

Overpriced for what it was.
Overpriced for what it was.
No window for fresh air, you have to leave the sliding door open ( lucky it actually locked.)
A room for 4 guests, we did book for 2…had 4 towels but only 1 washer.
Only water supply for kettle was the bathroom sink.
4 glasses, 4 tea/ coffee cups & tea spoons supplied nothing else…so even if we wanted to use the toaster supplied there was no other cutlery or crockery.
Small coffee plunger supplied with about a tea spoon of ground coffee- not enough for even 1 cup.
1 little pack of long life milk for 2 people for the night & morning- lucky I had my own supply.
Bed was comfy.
Will not be returning

We only stayed for one night while passing through.
Easy checkin and checkout service.
We unfortunately had noisy neighbours who sat outside our door till late chatting and again before 7am were outside with their kids. Showers from adjoining rooms were noisy, but the actual room and amenities were perfect for the night. Not much in town to do except head to the rsl for a meal, which was great!
I would stay there again.

Accommodation is in a small town but all the conveniences...
Accommodation is in a small town but all the conveniences are close and easy especially with meal times for families including bakery, grocery store, cafes and local club for dinner. Karuah isnt far away from Nelson Bay, Newcastle and Hunter Valley its a great base to start your day trips. It is also very close to activities for kids like the Oakvale Wildlife Park, Hunter Valley Gardens. The entertainment at the Big 4 is also enough to entertain kiddies if you want a relaxing time without the travel each day. Onsite facilities more suited to small kids. Karuah is really more of a base as activities outside accommodation were not as entertaining for my kids.

Great water pressure and no shortage of hot water.
We ate at the hotel. Good serving and great food.
We loved staying at the Big4 karuah jetty, from the pool, jumping pillows, the go karts, especially the go karts! I would definitely book and stay again 😁
