Great location on the river. We had a river view suite so the views were great and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. There is also a Woolworths close by for groceries.

We had a studio room with queen and single bed. Spacious room with a kitchenette set out suitable for a long stay. It was clean. The location was close to Sporties bowling club, shopping, and not far from the beach. We were to have an upstairs room but I asked if possible for ground floor room as my daughter has a knee problem and stairs aren't good for her. They gave us the only room left which was greatly appreciated.
Great size tv, wifi was a good speed as well. Small table suitable to dine at, as well as a table and chairs in the courtyard.

The manor is a lovely looking historic property. The room was very spacious with a balcony. The bathroom was also spacious and the breakfast included was varied and satisfying with everything you would need. There’s even a pool.

Very quiet place. We had trouble finding somewhere to eat as a family and later in the evening. Beaches weren't all patrolled - but it is just start of the season so that is understandable as well. We saw dolphins swimming.

Ballina is a well kept secret however it has been discovered as an alternative to the hype and bustle of Byron Bay. Coffees are still reasonably priced and there is an absence of social media wannabes posing on the beaches. I would recommend a trip to the Seven Mile Brewery for some therapeutic tonics. You might get lucky and spot a 'celebrity' zipping past on their way to their private chartered jet. The Ballina RSL is a good spot for a value feed plus some cokes, smokes and pokes. Mike Nolan is rumoured to hang out there occasionally. Have a yarn to him if you have done any damage to the rental, he'll fix it for a cashie.
