My second stay at this great little motel. Used it to stop over for just one night on the way back from Brisbane to Victoria. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, well priced, friendly staff.

Saltwater Apartments, hotel in Dunbogan

Saltwater Apartments offer breathtaking 180 degree ocean views with absolute beach and lake frontage. Port Macquarie is 14 km from the property. Free private parking is available on site.

A visually stunning apartment!!! Not to mention the sound of the waves the minute you step out of the car. Arrived just on dusk and the entire apartment was beautifully lit up with a cosy warm ambiance. Everything new and modern inside. Beautiful warm throws, cushions with ultra comfortable bed linen and choice of pillows for the best sleep ever. Living area and bedroom was entirely set for comfort. Kitchen was equipped with everything. The position of the apartment, being right on the waterfront and the quietest little corner street delivering 180 degree views of nothing but beach and ocean, who would want more? We stayed on a ground level apartment and the views just from the ground floor were amazing!! We sat on our balcony and we spotted that many whales. It was incredible to watch! We were immediately welcomed by Ellen and Matt our hosts who were extremely positive and had lots of local knowledge. It was the most relaxing stress free stay we’ve ever had. Who needs to go to day spa? or a health retreat, or stay in a 5 star beach resort when you have Saltwater Apartments. So a definite return visit is on our agenda.

Little Palm Cabins, hotel in Dunbogan

Boasting a patio with garden views, a garden and a terrace, Little Palm Cabins can be found in Lake Cathie, close to Lighthouse Beach and 1.8 km from Rainbow Beach.

I had always thought Little Palms was in a brilliant location: 2 minutes' walk from Lake Cathie and a number of glorious (and dog-friendly) beaches, the Tavern and several excellent (and also dog-friendly) shops and cafes. When I heard that pet-friendly cabins were available, on request, that was even better. But when we got there, I was blown away by the warm, helpful welcome - and the chic, comfort, cleanliness and attention to detail of the accommodation itself. Though small and 'simple' - just right for a beach holiday! – our cabin had the most tastefully designed decor, fittings and accessories; the most delightful front porch and curated mini-garden; the comfiest bed. There was an outdoor dog (or foot) shower, plus other amenities (kitchen, laundry) that we didn't use. Our cabin was right at the front, so there was some traffic noise - but this died away completely from about 8.30pm until 6.00am, and wasn't intrusive at any time. We will definitely be staying again.

Not suitable for dogs because there is no security for them.

Not suitable for dogs because there is no security for them. They have to stay inside. Old and very cramped cabins supplied with necessary utensils. Plenty of towels but take an extra pillow if you use more than one. The park itself feels very cramped but it is in a very good location.
