The Reisling Trail is phenomenal- full marks to the community of Clare!!😀 My husband is a rail enthusiast and enjoyed reading the history along the walk! Our accommodation at Clare Country Club was great! The Bakery in the main street sells the best pies, pasties and sausage rolls we've tasted - well done😀 The Old Station Master's house and the statue of Monica McInerney as a child. sitting on her rooftop reading! Such interesting history!!

Thoroughly enjoyed hitting bikes and doing the Riesling Trial and had a wonder lunch at Slate restaurant and at O’Leary Walker winery. Visiting Crabtree winery and having a bottle of Riesling with the group with a wonderful view was magic. The service at Crabtree was exceptional and I love my glass cloth!

Clare is less touristy than Barrossa and all wineries are very close to each other. Rent a bike and cycle down the Reisling Trail is a great way to explore the area and have wine-tasting along the trail.

Clare Valley is different Australia - countryside, but a lot of houses and villages with relatively short distences, in many ways like Central Europe. Most of the Australia is open fields or forest for long distances. Main attraction is of course the wineries. Bungaree Station (a historical sheep farm) is worth of visiting just 10-15km north from Clare. Martindal Hall is amazing - a grandious manor house build in English rich gentry style by a sheep farmer (he imprted architect and 50 builders from London to built it in 2 years in 1880s). Old no more used railway track has been converted as bicycle (or walking) track - over 30 km and covers full lenght of the Clare Valley.

A wonderful place to explore the Clare Valley. We had a large well equipped suite with everything we needed to enjoy our three-day stay. Clean and spacious. Great communication and a warm welcome. Lots of nice touches including very generous supplies for a cooked or continental breakfast, and a bottle of wine and chocolates on the table. The Riesling Trail is literally on the doorstep, and you can either hire a bike on-site or simply walk to many of the nearby vineyards.

Fantastic location tucked away and nice and quiet. This is a gorgeous little cottage, perfect for a couples getaway. Central to amazing cafes, restaurants and wineries. The bed was very comfortable. Wifi available which was appreciated as my phone’s mobile data was not great in Clare. Beautiful quality breakfast items left and coffee and tea provisions all making for a very comfortable, relaxing getaway.

Clare Central is a 20+ year old motel that has been upgraded and modernised in the recent past. The motel is very close to the Main Street and Clare township is walkable from the hotel. Rooms are well maintained and clean with good bedding , linen and towels, working Wi-Fi and a quiet a/c. Self check-in was efficient and easy.
