Local pub had very nice food.
Local pub had very nice food. Playground at the beach was also very good. While the tide was out, we explored the beach area for a couple of hours! At the right time of year you could be lucky enough to spot whales and their calfs. Good spot to stop.

I didn’t see much of the town, I stopped overnight en route...
I didn’t see much of the town, I stopped overnight en route from Townsville to Rockhampton. However what I did see was picturesque and sweet.
I had fatigue and an injured shoulder which was hurting after many hours on the road which is why I stopped, but in the future I think I will make Carmila a scheduled stop.

We only stayed for one night as we stopped to rest (had been travelling from Port Douglas to Brisbane). The room, bathroom and kitchenet were big, clean, fresh and modern, everything looked brand new. The property was clean, clear and very spacious with your own parking at your front door. The staff were friendly, polite and good sense of humour.
