The weather was fairly cold but the cottage was very easy to heat up, with the fire place making the place very warm and cozy. The beds also had electric blankets but we didn’t end up needing them as the blankets were extremely warm. It was nice to have a small kitchen, dining and living room area, better value for money than staying in a hotel or motel. Location was next to Berrima and just 10-15 min drive to Bowral and the surrounding attractions, so it was fairly convenient.
For energetic guests, Park Proxi Gibraltar Bowral offers an 18-hole golf course, a fitness centre and an indoor heated pool and for those wanting to relax, there is a casual bar and a restaurant...

Absolutely loved the old historic house and grounds. The view from the hills was absolutely spectacular at sunset, the colours were gorgeous.
My children absolutely loved the art on the property. They also loved exploring and seeing the rabbits in the afternoon come out.

We've been here before, so enjoyed the old world charm of the guest house. They are in the midst of renovating, so it would be unfair to point out small issues with the room. Great staff. We would be back again to experience the upgrades.

Berrima, where we stayed at the Berkelouw Book Barn is on...
Berrima, where we stayed at the Berkelouw Book Barn is on Bendooley Estate in the Southern Highlands which offers all the attractions of a big country town; a cinema in Bowral; cafes; bookshops; toyshops; "Dirty Janes" at Bowral which has booths of curated wares for sale by many exhibitors entered through garden wares and plants.
Hillside Cottage was really warm and cozy, all of the cottage and so well appointed with loads of amenities on offer. The cottage is a short stroll from cafes, cute shops, pub and lovely restaurants, perfect for a weekend escape and not have to worry about driving once you’ve arrived. Our host Gayle was also very friendly and responsive with any questions we had about the cottage and village of Berrima.
Luxurious living in the cottage. Everything is amazing and I appreciate the attention to details. Place is dead silent at night for peaceful sleep. Cellar and book store on the property is great for food drink and photos. Friendly and playful doggies from the host. Nice walk by the creek and in the vineyard. Close to tourist town Berrima and shopping at Mittagong.
The cottage was beautiful. It was the perfect size and had everything that you need.
All the appliances were new and great quality, there was even heated blankets for the bed which is perfect for winter in Berrima!
The cottage is also styled beautifully which makes you feel relaxed and right at home.
We can’t recommend this place enough!
Although compact, the cottage was well-appointed and cosy. The heating allowed us to stay warm at night. The robes were a welcome and unexpected bonus. The location handy to old Berrima and close to other towns and attractions. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and decor.
We choose this property because it was right in the town of Berrima and yet was a quiet, comfortable stay. we choose Berrima for a mid-week mini break with my family and elderly parents - great place and precisely as described by our wonderful hosts, Gayle and Grant.
Everything was amazing. Beautiful large cottage with an amazing bath, thoughtful touches. Very private with a nice outlook. One of the best hotel beds I've slept on. Excellent value for money. I have already told multiple people to add it to their lists.
Great location, very clean, spacious, bedrooms well designed and beautifully kept grounds and tennis court. Lots of separate areas inside and outside to relax/ unwind. Very close to cafe / restaurants in Berrima and only 10 minutes to Bowral.
Beautiful house, with a lovely verandah and garden. Beds were comfortable and pleased each bedroom had its own bathroom. The lounge room was very cosy and comfortable. The house was very clean. Also it was within walking distance to Berrima
Gorgeous little cottage in a great location. All the little details from decor to water by the bedside were lovely. We visited in winter and the place was deliciously warm! Will definitely be back next time I’m in Berrima.
Everything about the cottage is fantastic. It is new, clean, very well appointed and comfortable. On site parking is right outside the property door and convenient. It's like a home away from home.
The cottage is beautiful and cozy. The hosts were fantastic in accommodating our requirements and it is located just a stroll away from the Berrima Village and conveniently close to Bendooley.
Felt so cosy the moment we opened the door! The cottage had everything we
needed. We used the BBQ but unfortunately were too busy exploring Berrima to sit around the fire pit. Next time!
