Let me tell you something about this hotel, I had a tiny heart break when I had to check out, this hotel is what made my trip perfect, from the spacious room, to the toasty temperature at the room, to the spotless bathroom. The bathroom, oh my lord, modern, hip, beautiful with the perfect lighting. Heads-up, you will be addicted to their bed.. i needed a miracle to wake up in the morining. Mrs Jaqueline and Tommy are one of the most helpful, accommodating, tolerant, and wonderful people in the whole town! The breakfast is delicious and their bread is so fresh.

Nice hotel in an excellent location at the top of the Market square. Hallstatt is an expensive place to stay, and by Hallstatt standards the hotel was fair value. Our room 31 on the 3rd floor was clean and very pleasant with a balcony overlooking the the square and a view of the lake. The hotel restaurant was excellent: a beautiful panelled room with a small balcony (book ahead). There was a wide choice of delicious-sounding dishes, which ranged beyond the Austrian standards, and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Breakfast was not available in the hotel at the time we stayed, needed to be booked ahead and was taken in a neighbouring hotel a very short step away. Staff were absolutely lovely and could not have been more cheerful or helpful. Be aware - Hallstatt is closed to cars. Park in the P1 carpark (€18 per 24 hours) and take the free shuttle into the village. Shuttle stopped at 6pm while we were there. Car parks get very busy - best arrive early before 9am or later in the day.

We had a little unexpected issue and 2 wheels on the luggage broke on the way to Heritage Hotel Hallstatt. The reception staff was very understanding and went beyond to ask the hotel shuttle to drive us an extra mile to the bus station so that we won’t have to lift the luggage leaving the hotel. Very kind-hearted😊!

We liked how secluded and homely the location was of the property. The hosts were nice and polite. It was 20 mins walking from the main centre of the town but given the beautiful surroundings it was a delightful walk. The property is very near to the main bus stop of Hallstatt so that was convenient.
Property was clean and maintained.
Featuring garden views, Living History (adults only) offers accommodation with a terrace and is located 15 metres from the main plaza.

We were greeted by Lorenzo on arrival to Hallstatt and guided up to this stunning property. Lorenzo took the time to show us around and educate us on the history of his home. He was so pleasant and warm, and it made us feel right at home.
The property itself is magnificent. The photos simply don't do it justice. It truly feels like living history. The bathroom is so beautiful, and the beds were some of the comfiest I have slept in whilst being in Europe! The French linen made us want to buy some to take home to Australia!
The location was in the centre of the town, close to everything, yet very quiet. We were lucky enough to see some snow before we left, which made Hallstatt look even more magical.
We felt very lucky to experience Hallstatt and retire to such a beautiful home each night.

One of most beautiful village in the world. It is just 2 hours plus away from Salzburg. You can plan a day trip. You will get best scenery and it is like childhood fairy tale place. I must praise I have a good dining experience in Simple 169. The owner is so friendly and food is good. Preferable if you can spend one night with light luggage. So that you can take photo with less crowded moment and take an unforgettable 7000 year old salt mine tour plus skywalk visit.

A beautiful enchanting fairy tale town.
A beautiful enchanting fairy tale town. Set on a lake framed by mountains.
It is very small easily done in a day or 2.
The food is delicious and reasonably priced
Salt mines worth doing 100% but give yourself a few hours as so much to see at the top!
Only down side shops and cafes open late … 10-10.30 am and close around 6.30-7 in the winter we got caught out with nowhere to eat or nothing to do in the evenings

A perfect place to visit with family.
Beautiful lake, landscapes views, snowy mountains and salt mine tour.
Hallstatt is really small and can be walked around comfortably.
Connectivity with Salzburg is easy by bug #150, 542 and 543 in around 2.5 hours.
Tip : Hallstatt old town is costly, relatively cheaper accommodation can be availed in nearby places like Obertraun.

Hallstatt is completely overrun by daytime tourists who just want the quintessential photo of the town. I could have had the same mountain lake experience by staying in a nearby town (and then not having to leave my car in P1 parking then being shuttled to the town).

WAY too many tourists!
WAY too many tourists! Hard to walk around and also find a spot to eat! One night is plenty! Gorgeous town though and easy to get around. A lot of day trippers that once their buses left, the crowds cleared out tremendously.
Wonderful stay!! We parked in one of the commercial lots for about $25/night. Walked about a half mile to the hotel. Great location in the center of town. Owners are very nice. The room was great!! Bed was comfortable!! Breakfast was one of the best that we had the whole week we traveled!! Homemade everything including the yogurt. Lots of selections. Fresh fruits and juice. Would definitely return. Loved Hallstatt, super cute, walkable town. Lots of cute shops. The salt mine tour was the best!!! We loved Hallstatt and I Da Mitt!!!
The room was very comfortable and was decorated in a very charming and traditional Austrian style. The view from the room over the roof tops to the lake was spectacular and happily spent my morning on the balcony in the sunshine taking it all in. The owner was very friendly and in addition to showing me around the guesthouse also provided many good tips on things to see and do in Hallstatt along with good restaurant recommendations. There was also a good selection of complimentary teas on offer.
What a beautiful hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious with a modern style bathroom. Tom and Eva were lovely and really look after their guests. The hotel is right in the main square and is the perfect location to explore Hallstatt. The buffet breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend staying here. We stayed in room 3, the view was of the little side street which was beautiful. Netflix worked in the room when we logged in, so had a couple of evenings relaxing in between busy days.
Go twice, go three times!! It was the best hotel in Hallstatt. The owner is very kind and it was best to always take care of the convenience of our guests. All the hotel facilities are brand new and clean. And the view of Hallstatt Lake from the hotel is the best. The view from the terrace and the garden was amazing. I recommend it to anyone planning a Hallstatt trip! There was a breakfast fee, but it's worth it. The breakfast was very delicious!
The hotel was located about 10 minutes away from bus stop and main shops and restaurants. The room was spacious and clean and had everything you need. The host was fantastic and helpful advising on restaurants and things to do. In the morning we had no time for breakfast so she gave us some bread rolls and muffins to take with us. Highly recommend if visiting Hallstatt.
The view, the balcony, the bathroom, the authentic-ness of the building.
The noise is not bad like other guests mentioned, I think mostly because there's nothing to do at night in Hallstatt so no one would arrive late at the hotel.
I am a very light sleeper and only woke up once to use the WC, never due to noise.
Nice breakfast and helpful host.
This was by far our favourite accommodation during our trip across Austria. The house was exceptional, great facilities and amazingly comfortable rooms and beds. Location was also excellent, right in the heart of Hallstatt within walking distance of the town. Lovely touch by our host Julie, with some wine and chocolates waiting for us on arrival.
The view is the selling point of this room. There are two balconies, both with amazing views. They overlook the entire lake and mountains. Arguably one of the best views in Hallstatt.
The location is right in the center of the tiny town next to plenty of restaurants as well as the hotel having its own restaurant on the water.
this is the best hotel I stayed in such a long time. AMAZING location, spotless clean room. you don’t even have to get out from your room, you can enjoy the beauties of Hallstat from your own room because it is literally on the lake. gorgeous view, wonderful breakfast! definitely will go to Hallstatt for this hotel.
Great hotel in the perfect location to explore Hallstatt - right in the center of town!
The hotel has a really good restaurant too, and is only steps from the boat which takes you to the train station on the other side of the lake. Couldn’t imagine a better place to stay in Hallstatt.
we were on top floor with great views. staff very helpful. it took a bit long to take the shuttle from parking lot to the hotel. watched storm lights at night sitting at balcony. Hallstatt is a must. just wonderful. local park is the most beautiful park my kids ever went.
It’s well-known Hallstatt is an expensive town. Yet, compared to other apartments or hotels in the area, Apartment Sophia is still the most practical to stay in. I think it’s an old house before, but it is clean and lovely furnished.
The hotel was amazing and outstanding ❤️ I really enjoyed the time spent there its very relaxing with a an amazing view of the lake. I would totally recommend its in the centre of Hallstatt and just 2-5 minutes walk from the ferry.
We stayed just for one night and we enjoyed our stay very much. Very clean and comfortable rooms, very good breakfast, superb localisation, parking place right in front of the hotel and very good price considering it is Hallstatt.
Very nice quaint and clean hotel, self check-in easily and was given rooms on the top floor with a nice view of the church and lake. Short walk to most places of interest and main location to take the famous view of Hallstatt.
The hotel is beside the funicular and the beginning of village Hallstatt! Very good breakfast! Very politie personnel! Clean room, the towels and bed covers smelled very nice! Nice balcony with view in the mountains!
Floor heating and shower room is exceptionally great. The view is directly in front of the room, which is amazing, and is convenient if you are taking ferry to Hallstatt, as the hotel is right in front of the dock.
The hotel is just off the ferry pier and on the Main Street, so very easy to walk to the town center of Hallstatt. The host was really kind. The room is well
decorated and spacious.
We loved absolutely everything about it! Perfect location, bed, facilities, very quiet, amazing lake view, and very helpful staff. The best place in Hallstatt for self catering.
Everything is just perfect and I have a wonderful time staying in Pension Cafe Zum Muhlbach. Highly recommend this place to drop by for a lovely night in Hallstatt.
