The heater was on ice in the middle of the night, so cold that I couldn't sleep.
The water in the spa is also very cold, making it almost impossible to get in.

Small town as a gateway to the Lake region.
Small town as a gateway to the Lake region. Perfect for stopping by incase you want to visit Hallstat and other lake regions.
Town itself is good with few important touristic spots like Kaiservilla etc. Good scenery especially on a cloudy day. Being small town shops closes by 6 and then nothing much to do as it becomes quiet.

I have fallen in love with Bad Ischl and its “Sommerfrische”! We first went there in 2021 for the Lehár Operette Festival. It is a quiet village which falls asleep at 10pm, but such a relaxing and beautiful place to stay with so many daytime activities on offer. Close to different lakes and plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities. Lots of culture and loaded with history. I will return here every summer for many years to come.

We went to the thermal after dinner and it was pretty empty (which was great!) note that you must be naked in the Sauna zone.
We had dinner at K.U.K and it was the best dinner we had in our trip
If you come at Winter, for breakfast I recommend to eat at the place you are staying because all cafes serves food outside... for us it was too cold. We ate at a hotel in the center.

It is a great destination especially for families with children.
1. With "Katrin Seilbahn" you can get a great view. Google Maps will tell you to walk to this place. However, you can get here by bus 551 from Bad Ischl train station. (Takes 10 minutes)
2. Taking a hot spring bath at "Eurotherme Resort" is also recommended.
3. Don't miss out on a delicious meal at "Umeko"

I highly recommend to visit Kaiservilla in Bad Ischl, it still belongs to the descendants of Habsburgs, well maintained, has great atmosphere and the tour guide there was just amazing. The Kaiservilla was featured at least in couple of movies (about Sissi and Ludwig II) and it really stands out compared to the visits to the other palaces and museums around the world, has some special personal touch and is of high historical significance.
Also Bad Ischl is a great budget base for visiting Hallstatt.
I loved everything about this property. I was already expecting it to be very nice but it was simply wonderful. The owner provided us with very useful and detailed information about the house, the surroundings and Bad Ischl before we travelled. The house itself was very beautiful inside with a lot of lovely details. The sofa in the living room and the beds were very comfortable. Everything that we could need was already thought of and provided. The garden and the surroundings were amazing. We would love to go back.
Very nice location for driving to many lakes in Salzkammergut. Also the apartment is located in the center of Bad Ischl, accessible easily to supermarket, restaurants, bakery and ATM etc.
Especially for us, it was really convenient that we can use the same "Alles Gurgelt" Covid test system (with Wien's ID) in Oberösterreich, too. BIPA and BILLA is in 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
The host was super friendly, we got many tips on around.
Bad Ischl is wonderful, the area as well. Katrin cable cars are in walking distance, city center as well. Beautiful mountains, lovely place to relax. Breakfast in the hotel is great, the hotel crew very helpful and nice. The rooms are spacious, never seen a dormroom that big. There is a very good pizzeria nearby (next to Katrin cable cars)
The apartment was spacious and comfortable (in general). There is a dishwasher in the kitchen as well as a washing machine in the bathroom. It's located in a quiet area of the town and you can walk to the city center. You can visit by car the nearby lakes and all the great locations in the area. The hosts were very nice and helpful.
It was comfortable and spacious. The outdoor patio was a lovely place to curl up and read. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the promenade and a three minute walk to Spoarherd Gastropub which had fabulous food and cosy atmosphere for less money than places along the Traun River.
Plenty of parking space for free in hotels private area, super clean room and bathroom. Location is in the middle of the center of Bad Ischl, everything on walking distance in 5 min. Train/Bus station right next to the hotels entrance.
Breakfast was great, really tasty, and a lot of choices.
The river view from our balcony was amazing, and the location of the hotel itself is good, right in the city center and around 6 min walk from the train station.
Short bush walk behind the hotel into bad ischl town and a very close bus that runs into bad Ischl town and to Salzburg
Nice restaurant
Great free breakfast
Balcony with pretty view
Very quiet and peaceful
Excellent breakfast here. Used the hotel spa facilities and also rented electric bicycles. The reception staff were exemplary and helped us with advice where to eat and what to see
I felt very welcome, great place to stay if you visit Bad Ischl. The walk to town is 25 minutes but because it is so beautiful that was an extra plus. Highly recommended!
We are traveling in a large group, there are not many choices we can find in Bad Ischl. This apartment is the best option we can find to fit our requirement
