The Chalet is amazing, perfect place, perfect hosting, the kids had a great time. Big comfortable beds. A perfect yard with a barbequ place and playground. Sauna inside. A very nice house with a beautiful garden with fantastic tables to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. The town is romantic and authentic - like from a picture book out of the past, without any tourism - surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains. If you plan to hike around the Hochschwab mountains, this is a hidden gem. The host was fantastic - she went out of her way to prepare a great vegan breakfast for us (but you need to request this in advance).

Really nice place up in the mountains. Some reviews said there is poor wifi, the breakfast is boring etc. This is a farm with a guesthouse! It is exactly what is says it is and it has everything you need. Amazing view with the mountains, farm vibes, with the scent, you can watch the the owners feed the baby cows, there are dogs, and there are deer living right next to the farm! The owners are super nice, they speak english, they help you to get around and all your needs. Great place the get away from the city, the beautiful green lake is nearby, with plenty of trails and mountain spots. Highly recommended!

Etmissl was a lovely small village to stay in. The people there were all very friendly. We got lucky and stumbled upon a Maypole celebration that was incredible to watch. The meals in the restaurant were spectacular (e.g. wild garlic ravioli with morel mushrooms in a cream sauce or the lake trout on a bed of stinging nettle risotto). We ate there twice in two days. And one of the owners made a point of coming over to us during the Maypole celebration to explain what the tradition was all about for them.
