Great, friendly staff!! The apartment was large and clean. Nice bathroom with good shower, plenty of fluffy towels. Two windows looking out onto a pretty street. Shutters kept out most of the noise. Kitchen had everything you need. Bed was comfortable. Lovely neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and cafes. Close to the river. Within walking distance to the University and botanical gardens. Would stay here again.
Everything, the staff were so warm and welcoming, even reception was like a lounge. The chalets were just lovely with everything you need for comfort, everything just right
It was further out of the town centre than I’d expected and the decent restaurant close by was shut so we had to return to town for a meal in the evening
The cabin is extremely cozy and clean. But for sure the big window in front of the bed makes it even more beautiful and immersed in nature.
Beautiful view from the cabin. Cabin has tasteful decor and comfortable bed in main bedroom. A peaceful spot. The owner was available by text/ WhatsApp, the neighbours are friendly. Kitchen is well equipped but no washing machine. Lovely outdoor patio but sadly we didn’t use this due to weather. Very happy with my stay.
We only spent one night in the cabin and definitely will be back. The place is a real remote escape. The sound of the river, next to it. Just a perfect place to relax. Don't forget to bring yoga mattresses to enjoy the view while practicing yoga. The breakfast is a very nice bonus. We had everything we needed. Thank you, exceptional hospitality.
The location is good, situated on the tourist street yet still quiet and comfortable. The facilities are all brand new and of excellent quality, and everything was sparkling clean. The rooms themselves were spacious, featuring high ceilings and typical Portuguese wooden windows with shutters. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
A wonderful historic manor house in the centre of a truly charming little city. I got the impression that they don't get many tourists, which is a real shame! The rooms were elegant and exceptionally comfortable. With thick stone walls and heavy wooden shutters on the windows, it was perfectly dark and quiet for sleeping. Despite the antique furniture, the beds were very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally cheerful, despite the language barrier.
I had a nice, peaceful week at the Casa da Almoinha. Its chalet-like wooden interior, tastefully decorated to reflect the region, opens up onto a huge wooden terrace from which you can see the river literally flowing in the backyard. The breakfast (actually it’s a brunch) is so copious, with lots of local produce, that it’s impossible to finish it all! And Margarida is a wonderful host who helps her guests to discover the region by accompanying them on walking trails, and even joining them on a highly original visit to a nearby mine!
