The property has a 24-hour complimentary airport shuttle. Jacamar Lodge Expeditions's information desk organizes various activities such as piranha fishing, canoeing, pink and gray dolphin sighting, bird sighting, boating or canoeing, and jungle expeditions throughout the day and night.

After having stayed a night in Iquitos, I wanted to experience the jungle and decided to stay at a lodge. I am thrilled that I chose the Jacamar lodge - not necessarily for the lodge (basic and rustic accommodation, fairly priced), but because of the fantastic staff at the lodge and the amazing tour guide. I booked a night at the lodge, and was soon contacted to arrange a guide through the lodge (a must do, as it is difficult to explore independently). My guide Christian knew the jungle inside out, spotted so many animals, was telling beautiful stories about the life in the jungle, and was very knowledgable about the plants and animals. In my two days in the jungle I did a jungle walk, night walk to spot reptiles (saw frogs, snakes, tarantulas, other spiders, bats, etc.), a 5:30 am sunset birdwatching cruise, dolphin spotting, and we went to a rescue center for monkeys rescued from the exotic animal trade. Please note that these were the activities that I wanted to do - Christian said from the beginning that I can chose what to do, and he will guide me. The activities were exceptional, but even the boat rides through the big and small rivers framed by dense forest, looking to spot animals and hearing about life in the jungle was magical. The food at the lodge was very good. At the beginning they asked me about allergies and if I don't eat specifc things - I only eat fish and vegetarian food, and they cooked me great meals using the regional ingredients from the jungle.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

The view of the river and the sky is exceptional... but if you lower your eyes and see the huts where extremely poor people live, on the river bank, it's so sad.

Excellent location, the hotel is situated on a tranquille part of the river and the wooden-floaty feel of the Lodge gives you a taste of the Amazon . Tasty local food, large portions and freshly squeezed juices. They rent you a canoe for free in which you can cruise a Momon river meanders (safe just for 1 person, very unstable :D) Some staff were friendly (Daniel) some seemed mostly indifferent but nobody rude and always did What we asked.

Great location on the water with your own floating 'luxurious' hut on the water. Very friendly and helpful staff offering delicious amazonian food and very interesting private tours to jungle wildlife and meeting indigenous tribes. I really enjoyed my stay at Amazon Oasis Floating Lodge!
