Most of what they fed us was homegrown. There is no room heater but all the beds are equipped with electric blankets. We were fortunate to go there on a great time of the year when there is no snow or rain. The whole time weather was sunny during day time. They have a small but wonderful garden. You can treat yourself with great garden view first thing in the morning. Another neat little detail that I have to add is that you can get a clear view of the Kanchenjunga from the garden if the weather is clear.
