We were looking for a place from where we can explore Heraklio region by car and this property was perfect. We could easily travel to Knossos, Heraklion, Watercity and others. The apartment was comfortable for a stay of family of five, had a parking space next to the house, washing machine, refrigerator and a kitchen, big towels. Close to the house there were two very good inexpensive tavernas and another one in about 100 meters. There is a good bakery in the previous village Episkopi.

The location of the residence is a 10 min drive from the coastal town of Gouves with a nice sandy beach. So you’re also really close to a more commercial type of vacationing, if you’re into that sort of experience, and at the same time the secluded village you’re staying at gives you a pristine Crete experience. The owner Maria and her family are really kind and helpful, she helped us with guidance and accomodation even if we came very late. The neighbors are super nice, however you still have privacy in aboundance. The villa is fully furnished and really thoughtfully equipped with anything you might need during your stay. We really enjoyed the breathtaking view of the sea and the hills full of olive orchards, it trully is heaven on Earth. And on a more practical note - the location in the hills makes the residence almost mosquitoes free and there’s always a nice breeze blowing so you don’t feel the heat so much. All in all - a really pleasant stay, also as a culinary experience sice there are a few good Greek tavernas in the near vicinity and also Maria’s husband cooked us a delicious Greek lunch just out of kindness. Hosts are really nice people and the place is amazing. We highly recommend it, just don’t book it fully so we can visit again. :)

The location is absolutely gorgeous. In the middle of the mountains in a small village, only 30 min from Heraklion airport. The two-story apartment is the lovingly furnished. A real traditional Greek stone house. Everything you need is there. From the terrace you look at olive trees. From time to time a few goats come by. It is wonderfully quiet. The owner has a farm and provides you with fresh fruit and vegetables. This is in a large basket in the morning in front of the door. Even with fresh bread! There was also homemade jam and pickled tomatoes. It was just great! In the village there is a small good tavern that you can easily reach on foot. Who would like to make vacation away from the tourist crowds is exactly right here.

A nice little compact small house in a quiet traditional village in the hills of Crete (Heraklion). Well appointed and quaint in its stone construction. Host was very accommodating and helpful. Parking close by. Good WiFi. Separate elevated terrace overlooking the countryside with nice views. Excellent value for money.

The Villa is situated on a hill overlooking a small traditional village. The outdoor area has numerous spacious areas to enjoy the outstanding views in total privacy. The swimming pool is terrific. The Inside area is comfortable with everything needed for a lovely vacation. It is a 5 minute stroll into the village where two small restaurants serve excellent traditional Greek food.

Jean's Cottage is simply lovely. It's a little haven from the hectic nightmare that is daily life. Jean is a great host - there if you need her, leaves you in peace if you don't.
