We recently had a 19 day trip around Egypt and I can definitely say that the Iberotel Costa Mares was the best hotel/resort that we stayed at in Egypt and on par with other 5 star resorts we’ve stayed at around the world.
We had two deluxe family ground floor rooms with views on the gorgeous 45m long pool for our family of five. The rooms were very spatial, comfortable, clean and had all the modern conveniences you’d want. We spent our days moving from the pool to the beach and back again. The resort’s position on the bay is perfect for swimming with the sea turtles and the sea cows (dugong). There are other reviews that criticise the tour boats being the in the bay but this didn’t bother us - they are far enough from the shore and the bay is certainly big enough for everyone to enjoy.
The dive centre, less than 10 minutes walk down the beach at the sister resort, is an added bonus. We had a great excursion to the Dolphin House where one in our group was able to dive while the rest of us did snorkelling.
We chose Costa Mares for the location and the great reviews on the food and service. Khalif and his food and beverage team certainly didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed our meals at the Coral Restaurant (buffet) where there is a vast selection of Egyptian and International foods and always freshly grilled or barbecue meat and fish in the evening. The food was fresh, tasty and good quality.
Special mentions to Mohamed Allam and both Ahmeds at the Coral Restaurant, Ahmed Mahout at the pool bar and lifeguard Amr who looked after us so well, greeted us with smiles and genuine kindness and worked so hard to ensure that we always received 5 star service.

My overall experience at Sunrise Anjum Resort Marsa Alam was fantastic. The resort itself is beautiful with modern, nice and cozy rooms, many different pools and a nice beach with direct access to a reef. The food is very good and diverse, especially when it comes to the international restaurant. You have several bar options and a rather small but nice equipped fitness center. The overall experience was very much impacted by the fantastic staff. Some of them who even know your name after some days and who gave me the feeling of being home. I am very happy that I found this place and was able to stay there. Thanks a lot and hopefully see you soon again!

Omar is a really great host and will go out of his way to help you with whatever you need. He helped us get a SIM card, dinners, a taxi into town, diving etc. The living area was ample and the bed was very comfortable, the shower was good and the terrace at the top was a nice place to chill at the end of the day.

Just stayed at this cool budget hotel in Marsa Alam. Rooftop vibes are perfect for mingling with other travelers. Breakfast? So much yum! Rooms are spotless, and the owner rocks – always there to help out, set up my phone, and sort taxis and trips at competitive prices.

We felt very comfortable. It was a clean spacious room! There was a great roof terrace with sea view. It was not far to the small town center where you can find everything we have eaten one of the tastiest faleaffel there and súper cheap !People were friendly everywhere! The location is very quiet around around are many unfinished houses. We were a great diving spot 10 minutes away Awlad Baraka Dive Center.

Very clean and lovely owner. Omar is an amazing host that pleases to help and chat about Egypt. He would help you with everything, take you to the beach or market or dinner. Good location, comfortable bed and great furniture. Everything was perfect.
The apartment is in a good location, there are some beaches nearby or you can take a tour to Hankorab or Abu Dabab for example.
The place is very clean. Wi-fi works well in all the building. The apartment was great with a nice bathroom, bedroom and a living room with a kitchen.
The owner is very helpful, so ask him anything you need and he will try to aid you. There are lot of activities and tours that you can book with him at reasonable prices (don't miss the Dolphin House tour where you can swim with dolphins in the open sea!).
