Mudite, Nelson and the two boys do everything they can to make sure you have a good time. I have rarely seen such lovely people. The cottage is small but big enough, a lot more luxurious than we expected. Perhaps it is not suitable for those who are used to a 5 star hotel and obese people may also want to look further afield. This was by far my best experience ever after years of travelling. The house is located in a quiet and beautiful area. The rooms were very clean. These were the friendliest hosts I have ever met. They did everything they could (and more than the average host) to help us with all our practical questions and needs during our stay. If I could give a higher number than '10/10' I would!

The windmill is amazing and the views are beautiful. It is so much bigger in person and the pool area is large and really private. Layton and his family were super helpful throughout the week, we will definitely be visiting again soon! We had a car for the week so we managed to see some of the surrounding towns too.

The location is a challenging drive up through the Serra de Monte Junto mountain villages, many roads I had not driven before. Upon arrival, we were met very graciously by the host. The room accommodation was nicely laid out. The water for bathing is nice and hot, something that is not always found in Portugal. The bathtub is a nice deep soaker, however, as an older person, I found it difficult to get out of the tub. The communal dining area is an exceptional Portuguese layout. The grounds have been manicured for a very relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, I had come down with a fever at this point in my travels, and I was unable to appreciate the accommodations to their fullest.

The villa is well equipped, with a separate building which works as a kitchen/dining room with dishwasher, range cooker and barbeque. Beyond the beauty of nature, was the friendly 'can do' approach of the owner who is passionately knowledgeable about the area and arranged for the delivery of wonderful artisan bread every morning and was always available with information and support.
