We had a lovely stay in the Rock retreat. It was very clean and beautifully presented. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a decent meal.
We had plenty of firewood to keep warm on a very cold weekend. The bed was super comfy. Overall a great weekend to shut off from technology and enjoy the mountains

Excellent accomodation. The room is comfortable and bright, and the care and attention in arranging the room was obvious. Several breakfast options are placed in the room, along with a mini fridge containing yogurt and pitchers of milk and juice. the location itself is stunning, with beautiful views and an exceptional opportunity to see the night sky without intense light pollution.
Comfortable room with wonderful ambiance, Warm and friendly host & hostess who were welcoming and provided history regarding Waitomo Village along with recommendations regarding local area attractions and restaurants. Lovely, continental breakfast.
Room was great. There are several smaller buildings on site that have one or more rooms in it. Pretty grounds. Breakfast was plentiful. Parking is down the hill but you can pull your vehicle up to unload/load luggage and then park as the driveway is pretty steep. Not a lot of restaurant choices in the village, but the next bigger town is only about a 15 minute drive away. Could walk to the Caves and take other hikes.
Great location. Host Lyn was lovely, helped out with suggesting where to eat. Tomo Bar and Eatery was directly in front of the Waitomo Village Chalets and was so convenient to enjoy a superb quality meal. It was a really good quality hearty meal.
The bed was comfy, nice clean linen. I liked the view of the bush to the left of my top stairs cabin room. Perfect spot. Loved seeing the sun rise. I liked the flowers in the garden and the country air.
The lodge was central to the village and had absolutely fantastic views of the valley. The lodge was in walking distance to dining options and a nearby park. There was plenty of parking in the lot adjacent to the property.
Brand new cabin with a nice outlook over the valley. It was nice and quiet even though quite close to the highway. Great coffee in the cafe much appreciated. Toilet/shower facilities were nice and new also and communal kitchen / the facilities were clean and well cared for. The old villa building is beautiful with a lovely deck to enjoy.
Located within the walking distance to waitomo glowworm caves, in a quiet little village with a general shop/cafe, post office/info centre, local school and a restaurant with good food, what more can you ask for

Remote location meant peace and quiet but only 15 minute drive from the village which had good choice of eateries.
Bed was comfortable room was warm and was based in a nice village, very clean and tidy, got a good commentary of the village so i knew where everything was
