We like the location and its closeness to sea, shopping and entertainment.
We have always chosen Quest on Johnson as our place to stay in Wellington, the rooms and beds are comfortable, clean and functional.
We now find it difficult as to parking, parking buildings nearby are very expensive, and meters restrictive and expensive, when related to properties that have onsite parking.
The location is great for easily walking to popular tourist attractions. The aesthetics/decor was great.
On the last day, local friends pointed out that the location is near the party end of town/ near the adult entertainment strip of Wellington. I did not notice it until they pointed it out. I was too distracted by the strange little laneway that was the entrance to the hotel. I am not sure what classifies this as a hotel vs a holiday rental - the daily cursory cleaning?
Really liked being close to a quieter stretch of Wellington’s waterfront and enjoyed the level walking opportunities in each direction.
A short walk (or quick drive) took you to the Hataitai Shopping Village where there is a multitude of bars & eateries, along with a Four Square mini-supermarket for all your needs.
The owners & staff were absolutely lovely and went out of their way to make sure me and my classic car were well looked after.
The pods are very convenient to Khandallah shopping village. We both loved the village atmosphere in Khandallah, nice little cafes. Khandallah is very convenient to Wellington Central. However, what we really liked was that we were able to step from the pod onto several well marked walking tracks.
