Amazing place to stay. The morning prayer was definitely a highlight. Loved all of it. The temple is beautiful, with amazing gardens. The room was also very nice, spacious and well equipped. Staff was very kind. Dinner was served in a private dining room, the food was very nice (but if you cant eat Japanese food definitely bring something to eat as you cant buy anything at the temple). The onsen was modern and clean, men and women are separated. Thank you very much, would definitely recommend!

Dinner had so many vegan dishes and they were delicious. Breakfast was smaller but still filling. It won't be a western breakfast. The futon ended up being comfy and warm but the halls were cold in the morning. I suggest arriving at the start of check in to take full advantage of everything there is (enjoying the pond, onsen, tea in room while reading the info on ceremonies). Location was great for the big 3 sites, if you don't mind walk 20 minutes in either direction.

Really special stay here. We weren’t expecting it to feel so luxurious. The shower facilities being an onsen bath was a wonderful treat for taking the chill out of the fall air, the food was great and the staff and monks were really lovely. We took part in the meditation and highly recommend it; it was beginner friendly and our monk’s comments and insights were very moving. The location is also very peaceful and right in the heart of Koyasan. Can’t recommend it enough!
