The private onsen's were really nice and so was the traditional japanese room - pretty, clean and warm, which was great after hiking. The staff was friendly and helpful, they made sure, that we were aware that the food options in village were limited, so we could make an informed decision about ordering dinner from them.

Originally developed as a lodging for the temples’ pilgrims, it conducts Buddhist services every morning that guests can attend. Nankai Koyasan Train Station is a 15-minute drive away. Beautiful temple and garden. The location is perfect.

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. Guests are free to attend Buddhist morning services, the Goma fire ritual and meditation. I’d warmly recommend Eko-in to anyone looking to visit Koyasan. Not only is the location exceptional, being right next to Oku-no-in cemetery, but the rooms were amazing - beautiful and clean - and the staff was incredibly helpful. Everyone was very comfortable helping guests out in English, and they were very kind and accommodating as well. We were also invited to participate in meditation sessions, morning religious services, and of course the fire ritual, which was a wonderful experience. Dinner and breakfast, prepared in the traditional buddhist way (shōjin-ryōri) were served in the room, and everything was delicious and prepared with care. Another big plus is that they welcome guests with tattoos in the communal bath! Overall, nothing but positive impressions from Eko-in.

The tsuruhashi station is a short walk away and links to the Osaka loop line and other major railway lines. The staff were really kind and ready to help and the room was spotless.

Keep in mind the location is a mostly self-check-in service so the privacy was well appreciated. The online staff was excellent with fast response times. I found their customer service on the booking website to exceed my expectations. They were able to respond in a timely manner even during the night. The property is also located within walking distance from a major transit hub with multiple convenience stores as well as a large grocery store within ten minutes. There is a washing machine and a drying function on the shower side which is a very nice touch. Multiple minor amenities were provided along with what you would usually expect a room to include with a stove.

Apartment is very clean and modern with many useful facilities in your room (washer, dryer, microwave, fridge etc). Staff were very communicative and helpful over Booking.com messages, they also helped me receive my luggage sent from another hotel. Also there is an elevator so no struggle with luggage up the stairs. Room was quite soundproof.
