We stayed in the Blossom Lodge, the time of year was perfect... surrounded by blooming apple trees. The view of the lake was beautiful. there were many small rabbits eating all around the yard all day long. The birds were singing and happy about spring in Ireland.... kind of perfect. The accommodation was a small new building which was separate from the two other houses. We had a large patio, nice bathroom with shower, a fully stocked kitchenette and parking space. Deirdre did not miss even the smallest detail, all of our needs were met. Deirdre's husband, Tom, maintains the property perfectly. The view from the deck is stunning. There were all of the services and restaurants we needed in the nearby town of Macroom. We were just a short distance from all the sights to be seen in the southwest of Ireland; Killarny, Ring of Kerry, Ring of Beara, Dingle Peninsula, Mizen Peninsula, Baltimore Peninsula, Galley Head, The Old Head of Kinsale, Cork, Mallow, and more castles than you can count. We were able to fit all these in due to the location.... there is a lot to see, we spent four nights there and could have booked more.... southwest Ireland has a lot of stunningly beautiful things to see. It is also a relaxing location to just sit and recover from driving and seeing the sights.

We arrived super late but the host waited up for us. She even turned on a bed heater before we arrive so by the time we reached the location the bed was already warm. What a thoughtful gesture!!! Also the breakfast scones are amazing!

This was our first stay in Ireland as we attended a clan gathering. We chose to stay in smaller bed and breakfast locations rather than hotels and we were very impressed with this location. The setting is beautiful, the staff welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, including self-serve items, full breakfasts, and gluten free options. They had the best gluten free bread we tasted during our stay in Ireland! We requested a top sheet, as the comforter was a bit warm during their heat spell, and it was delivered to our room promptly and with a smile.
