The owner Terri was lovely, very welcoming and happy to provide advice and do extra things, eg offered to dry wet swimsuits. very genuine lady and other staff nice too. The breakfast was delicious and great choices eg fruit, cooked , cereals etc. Terri was also very good with accommodating my gluten and dairy dietary intolerances. Thank you

we loved this place so much so I will be booking again - staff super friendly and the house and it's contents are another level full of historical things . amazing pictures books and all sorts of treasure that we were warmly invited to use .
I loved the idea that it's full of a person collection of occultism and the new owners have treated them respectfully. you definitely don't have to be into occultism to love and enjoy the treasures and the vibe of the house is so warm and welcoming X ps pics don't do it justice

The Gatehouse Cottage, a property with a garden, is set in Wells, 33 km from The Roman Baths, 33 km from Bath Abbey, as well as 34 km from Royal Crescent.
Generous provisions - fruit, cheese, cider etc - on our arrival. Lovely location and great welcome in the garden. A nice homely feel and very clean. Very comfortable beds with lovely bed linen.
Wellesley House features a steam room and free private parking, and is within 36 km of Oldfield Park Train Station and 37 km of Bristol Temple Meads Station.
Everything in the house was perfect and the spa with pool was a fabulous bonus
This pub is the heart of the village, and the owners are very welcoming and friendly. The room was en-suite and had everything I needed and even though it's above the pub, it was quiet. There was a hospitality tray with tea, coffee, etc. and free sat TV. They serve excellent food, and there is a lovely garden to relax in. Breakfast was included in the room price, and you have several choices. Excellent value, I highly recommend it.
Staff were helpful, cooked breakfast included use of the continental spread too.
On site restaurant food was reasonably priced.
Two pubs in village a short walk away but didn't visit.
On the doorstep to visit Wookey Hole Caves.

Owner was very friendly from arrival to departure & gave good advice regards a walk around the village & a place to eat dinner. Room was small but well appointed. Excellent breakfast served in the morning.
